Jeremy’s POV It’s been a few days since Alondra was discharged, and I’m finally taking her back home. I watch her as I help her walk; she still feels weak. But I’m not going to let her carry anything—neither the exhaustion nor anything else that could weigh her down. Without a second thought, I scoop her into my arms and carry her to her bedroom. Alondra settles against me, her face close to mine. Seeing her so peaceful calms my entire world. Paulina, who has been following us the whole time, stops at the doorway.
