She Couldn't Do It!

Frank opened his eyes after several seconds of waiting for death to come pick him up. "What?... Are you gonna shoot or not?" "Hahahahah," Pedro's thug laughed and said, "You forgot your keys. I have only come to remind you about them!" he said while deepening his mocking smile. His name is Tazz. He was a man of violence. It was the reason Don Pedro made him his Chief executor. "So where are the keys?" Frank demanded while opening his left palm. He was trembling from his feet to his head because he was yet to recover from the shock he had been subject to. "Oh, I'm not with it! But you can get it if you move your ass back inside the mansion!" said the Tazz with a long contemptuous smile. While it was all smiles on the thug's face, it was disgust on Mandy's face. She was only standing four meters away from the two men. She had never taken her eyes off Frank. There was no surprise on her face when the Tazz pointed a pistol at Frank's forehead because she never overheard Don Pedro giving such orders. Frank looked away when their eyes met. Perhaps, he was feeling ashamed of himself after all he did to her. A more worried issue to him should be, why Mandy came with one of Pedro's thugs to meet him. "Why is she here?" he managed to ask Tazz as both men began walking back into the mansion. "I have no idea!" Tazz glanced at Mandy as she stared at Frank. "But, I overheard her pleading with the Boss to get some fresh air outside. You see, I and her are here for different purposes!" He held Frank each side of Frank's shoulders. "I'm gonna warn you, don't make things!" As if that was not enough, he pulled the pistol and pointed at Frank's forehead again. "One big mess up, I'm gonna kill you myself. Don Pedro must not find out we have double-crossed him!" With a pistol pointed at his forehead, Frank had no choice but to nod in agreement. "I understand. I will not mess things up!" "Now, go!" he pushed Frank away from himself. Frank walked about three meters before turning to glance at Mandy. He realized she had been standing in one place the whole time. She could not hear their secret conversations because he and Tazz whispered to each other, the whole time they communicated. His guilty heart could not stand her intimidating look so, he turned his face reluctantly and began walking again. But, the urge to turn around and take another glimpse at Mandy for the last time, did not cease. When he finally turned, he was flabbergasted to see her closer to him with a difference of about three meters in distance. Mandy's sudden movement and increase in pace towards Frank stemmed from her unquenchable desire to inflict maximum punishment on the betrayer. It was because of him that she was tossed around and r***d by several men before fate brought her to Don Pedro. The pain of her heartbreak will never go away even if she succeeds with her brutal plan. Nevertheless, it was one way to earn her a little justice for her misfortune. Frank stopped just a step to the main entrance of the big building. He planned to wait for Mandy having realized she was stalking him. Maybe, he would push his luck and apologize. It would not be easy! He knows that nevertheless, he decided to give it a try. "I'm so sorry, Mandy," he pleaded once Mandy was within his reach. His lips were moving rapidly and the anxiety on his face made it obvious, that he was not himself. "I never mean that to happen! I swear to God!" Annoyed by the crying mirth she figured out on Frank's face, Mandy lashed out at him. "Stop shedding crocodile's tears! It won't help you in any way. Now, you are going to feel how it feels to be back-stabbed!.... You son of a b***h!" She was losing it. If she doesn't put herself in order, she might as well lose her only chance to get her revenge. She needed to comport herself in such a way that Frank would not suspect the impending disaster she was about to unleash on him. "Will you ever forgive me? I regret what I have done to you! Tell me, what can I do to earn your forgiveness?" His tear-drops hit the floor but they were not enough to convince Mandy to rethink. "Please, look into my eyes and see how bad I'm feeling about that." "Did you look into my eyes the same way when I cried and begged for mercy? Did you? Tell me, did you see the agonizing tears in my eyes when those monsters bundled me like a block of wood and threw me at the car-boot? Did you?" Even as she assumed the initiative, to intimidate Frank with queries, she was melting down as well. Both of them were shading tears. It was all about a love story that started so well but ended on a sad note. Mandy repositioned the little knife she held in her hand to suit her intention. The knife was concealed in such a way that Frank had no idea he was about to be stabbed. He inched closer to her and tried to force a kiss down her throat. Mandy reacted by pushing him away with all her strength before, slapping him very hard on his right cheek "What did you do that for?" he asked while placing one of his hands at the site of the impact. The short-lived tears of love shed by them seemed to have ended. "How dare you!" she said with frustration. She had the perfect opportunity to stab Frank when he was within her reach. Nevertheless, she let her only chance slip away. Not because she has no balls to do it, but because she was never brought up to hurt others including her enemies. "Did you tell him?" he asked while reeling from the pain. "Who?" she moved the knife from her left hand to the right one, while looking up at him so he wouldn't suspect a damn thing. "Your new sugar daddy, Don Pedro?" A change in his tone signaled a new shift in his attitude. Mandy was right. She had guessed that his tears were mere crocodile's tears. The sudden change in his tone has proven that. "How dare you! You wouldn't be alive if I had told him." "Good! That will make it easier for me," he boasted. "What are you talking about?" She moved a step back after suspecting a weird look on his face. Behind her was a sloppy floor featuring several potentially, slippy hard tiles. Any careless mistake in movement could make one slip and land on the unforgiven floor, with a possible fatality. She was not familiar with the building, unlike Frank who knew the ins and outs. As she watched, Frank walked back with an evil intention, although it was unknown to her yet. No one was looking and certainly no one was there. He had suddenly realized that no amount of apology could make her change her mind. He knew he hurt her so much. It was pointless trying to beg for a change of heart. There was only one way he could end it, and that was to end her life. Without much deliberation, he pulled a pistol he had taken from his car, and shot Mandy on the chest, at point blank. She fell to the ground dropping the knife she had hidden for a long time until now. A pool of blood formed around her in mere seconds. "What in the bloody hell have you done?" asked Tazz who had ridiculed him previously. He was the first to run to the scene after he overheard a gunshot. Frank shot him too without hesitating. Two dead bodies lay on the floor. Could this be the end for Mandy and her little revenge? How will Don Pedro, the Mafia Lord who was just beginning to fall in love with Mandy react when he discovers her shooter? Will this be the end of the road for Frank and Mandy, or a new beginning for them?
