Chapter 2
The next morning -
Luna woke up rubbing her eyes as she looked at the clock. It's 7 already. I'm going to be late for work on my first day. Thinking this she got out of her bed and looking back at the bed “ don't worry, I will be back soon after.”
After freshening up she looked at her wardrobe and there was no formal wear. She had no choice but to wear the floral printed frock. Looking in the mirror she thought ‘ I'm looking like a college student. Great, I have no words ,now people are going to stare at me doubt free . I'm not even beautiful. Just an average 20 year old girl going to work."
She shook her head " Think positive luna think positive "
At the company -
Andrew was talking to his team. As his eyes fell on luna, He was stunned by how simple and adorable Luna looks with a loose braid and floral printed frock along with white sneakers. Though she is short she didn't prefer to wear heels like other girls.
“I will be your instructor about the work” Andrew said softly by approaching Luna.
Luna recognized him but she was just looking at him with questioning eyes and didn't say a thing.
Observing this Andrew continued “ Pardon my rudeness, I'm Andrew, the director of the technical department.”
Luna looked down saying “I didn't mean to stare at you , sir.”
“No problem, that is my mistake anyway.” saying this Andrew guided her to his cabin. And gestured for her to take a seat
Andrew began to explain to her about the work. Luna's eyes were roaming the cabin till they got locked to a Wall clock.
" I'm not that late I guess, Andrew didn't mention me being late either, I'm not late at least that's what I think " thinking all this Luna did not concentrate on Andrew's words at all.
“Miss Luna , are you okay?” Andrew asked which brought Luna back to senses. She was a bit embarrassed . She smiles trying to cover the embarrassment.
“Yes, sir” This is all she said and became quiet again.
“You need to sign this file to continue as a PA” Saying this Andrew gave her a file.
" Getting this job is a huge luck to me. I can't lose this. There is no going back, once started." Luna signed the file without even reading it or giving it a second thought.
“Your desk is in Alex's cabin” Andrew said
" What , my desk is in Alex's cabin but why? , can't it be outside. I think it is better this way too. Because there are a lot more men working on this floor than women. I can avoid all those stares at least "thinking this Luna was quiet for a moment yet she could not wait but to ask “why is my desk placed in Alex's cabin”
“Because you are Alex's PA, he needs you around most of the time” Andrew said looking at Luna , clearing the confusion.
Luna followed Andrew to Alex's cabin. Both their eyes widened looking at the desk as they he opened the door. The desk was filled with dusty files.
" How come I didn't notice this in the interview? What am I supposed to do right now " - luna said to herself, looked at Andrew with confusion
There was an awkward amount of silence present in the cabin for some time.
“Alex, this is Luna, your new assistant,” Andrew said , breaking the silence.
Alex looked at Luna and then at Andrew. Andrew was looking at Alex for some time . There was a couch near the window . Andrew suggested that she should use it till the desk is ready.
Luna sat on the soft and comfy couch near the window which had a view of the small lake. The lake was so beautiful that Luna was lost in thoughts as soon as she saw it.
" This lake is the beauty of this place. With lotus flowers the lake looks so beautiful. Not like that desk which looks like a stolen antique piece. " She said to herself , with her eyes set on the lake.
Soon Luna came to her senses. She looks around to make sure Alex is not looking at her. But she did not find Alex in the cabin. Her eyes were searching the cabin noticing every single detail. She also noticed a revolver on Alex's desk.
" So, papa was right, he is a criminal. Who kills innocent people." Murmuring, Luna took a few steps forward towards the gun. But her footsteps stopped and she looked around the cabin and decided not to go near it for some reason.
She instead walked towards the wall and started looking at the wall carefully. Wondering
Why would a killer or a criminal choose such elegant colours. She ran her hands on the walls like she feels something from that colour
Luna suddenly turned around hearing footsteps.What luna didn't notice is that Alex was looking at her ,from the movement luna started to walk towards the wall. He was studying every single move.
Alex stood at a distance looking at her. Wonder what she will say .
Luna was looking at the floor and said “do you need something , sir? ”
Alex was just looking at a pair of blue eyes, which were fixed on to the floor. After something Luna slowly raised her eyes waiting for him to say something.
“ Andrew wanted to see you ” Alex said with a cold tone as always.
Luna left the cabin without saying anything
Andrew was on a call. Maybe Something important , he saw Luna but didn't react. He continued “ noah where is noah?...... Yes, I will see” saying this he ended the call and started to look at Luna.
He stood from his place and gave Luna a file saying “ You should have a copy of this, for your own good”
Luna was confused at his words. What does he mean by for my own good - thinking this Luna looked at Andrew who is leaving the cabin with another file.
Andrew placed the file on Alex's desk and looked at Alex who was standing near the window with lost thoughts . Andrew stood beside Alex placing a hand on his shoulder saying “ What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing, did you find anything about noah?” Alex said, still looking outside the window.
“Not yet, but we will, soon enough” Andrew said, and looking at the desk he continues “ But, I have some information that you wanted.”
As soon as he said that Alex's eyes fell on the file which Andrew brought. He moves toward the desk to take it. But he stops as Andrew suddenly calls “ Alex” . Alex looked at Andrew with a bit of irritation.
“ You should not keep weapons in open areas like this, you should know that much not to scare the girl, what if she saw it, you will lose your only option” Andrew said pointing at the gun on the desk.
“ I don't care . If she saw it or not , she is not my only option, I can find people like her or much better” Alex saying, he is clearly annoyed by andrews lecture
“It is not about Luna, it is about your carelessness” Andrew said this and started to leave. As he touches the door frame he hears a loud and harsh voice which makes his heart step a beat. He quickly turns around looking at Alex whose eyes are red and his veins on the popping out as he grips the desk tightly. If he applied even a little more pressure the glass would have shattered .
“What is this supposed to mean " Alex said with a harsh tone , which would have made someone faint in fear but Andrew is different .
