Chapter 36
The next day is busy for Jane. Early on, she has rescheduled all her classes so she would be able to finish soon and can come home every day. She has decided to reschedule the class she shares with Aaron, as well.
“This is for the better,” she promises herself.
She talks to the librarian, too, quitting her student assistant job. The librarian is quite shocked.
“What happened, dear?" she asks. "Maybe you can just take some time off.”
Jane shakes her head. Her decision is final. “I’m sorry. You have been very kind. But I really need to do this.”
Her footsteps are heavy as she heads to her next stop: the Student Lounge. All of them would have heard what transpired between her and Rachel. And knowing Rachel, Jane is sure that she played the victim card.
