Chapter 31   Jane walks to school early Monday. The campus is again abuzz with gossips, but Jane is already used to that. The students in Genevese spend more time gossiping than actually studying.  She drops by her locker to take some of her books. “Did you hear the latest rumor?” one girl asks her friend excitedly. “What rumor?” “You didn’t see the picture?” “What picture?” Jane tries to drown out their voices. She hates Mondays. She doesn’t like feeling that she’s got a long week ahead and new sets of projects lined up for the week. Or maybe it’s because growing up in the orphanage, Mondays are always the days when the foster parents come to take home one lucky orphan.
