Keith staggered out of the Phantom Falls with his left hand placed on his chest. He was happy to have slain the fuckin Critter, but, the pain he felt didn't enrich his happiness.

"Level 2 longsword deactivate," Keith ordered.

Swiftly, the longsword he held in his right hand disappeared into thin air.

'I think it's time I purchase a spear. Killing monsters won't be that hard anymore...'

Keith thought as he descended the hill of the Phantom Falls. At this moment, Keith felt weak... Sure, if even a Gold-rank Awakened was in his shoes, they would have felt exactly the same way he was feeling right now.

Truthfully, his chest hurts so badly. His a*s aches.

'There is no way I can kill five Tier-0 monsters today. I am gonna just die and face the impacts of foolishness in the heavens.'

Keith thought as he leaped against a fallen tree by the forest pathway. However, the Immortal Mage System remembered him of something...

"Huh? Yes!" Keith requested swiftly. He recollected the moment he purchased the Longsword. A "Portion" menu was actually among the System Shop.

Wow, the system seemed to have a lot of resources even if it only has the "Immortal Mage" title. Keith felt happy to have attained the system, even though it acts somewhat weird sometimes.

'Really... You still gotta explain why I should really have a sexy maid. I don't do s**t, actually,' Keith thought, his eyes looked bloodshot as he entered a seemingly dark place. It was a part of the outer section of the forest, though, due to the myriad of trees that surround it, the area looked somewhat dazzling.

Without even studying the written words on the screen so well, Keith muttered:

The system sounded loudly with the written words shaded in red. Keith frowned. He was feeling quite dizzy and wasn't fully focused on what he was doing. However, the pain in his chest made him uncomfortable.

"What the f**k! How come I can't open the damned Portion menu. Is this a... " Keith paused, he remembered something, and that thought drove him to check his Stat Points balance.

"Dam," he cursed, his countenance suddenly changed from faint to angry. He clenched his fist and forced himself to sit on another fallen tree by the forest pathway. His chest still aches, badly.

"Huh? Really?" Keith asked in surprise. However, the system didn't respond. Without wasting a second, he quickly blinked his lashes and the system popped up again.

"Yes, system," Keith authorized.

"Okay," Keith sighed. "Elixirs."

"Wait wait wait! I'll go for the second one," Keith interrupted. He was still holding his stomach. Just like before, he still felt his life leaving him gradually.

No doubt, battling a Tier-0 monster was something dreadful. Keith regretted walking that far into the Menace Forest.

Suddenly, to piece of blue thick leaf appeared on Keith's palm. The leaf seemed a little bit heavy with the smell of the normal Lifespan Increaser spirit grass he had known before. But, anyway, its dull aura made the difference.

Keith smiled.

Without wasting much time, Keith put the leaves into his mouth, chewed them, and grimaced:

"Ah! Bitter!" He complained, however, that didn't stop him from chewing them.

Moments more, Keith swallowed the leaves together with a huge quantity of saliva. The grimace on his face was inevitable at that moment due to the bitter taste of the leaves.

However, the results he didn't hoped for suddenly began to exhibit.

Keith felt his heart get heated, his heartbeat only got faster. The aches in his chest were suddenly replaced with a burning feeling. It was as though he was suffering from heartburn.

"Argh! What's with the burning chest? Did I take too much of the elixir? This darned system must have made me commit d**g a***e, and it is going to tear my heart apart!" Keith shouted as he placed both hands on his chest. He feared for his life.

Uhh... Silly.

However, soon, Keith was surprised to have felt another feeling. He felt better. He felt no pain in his chest, his a*s hurts no more, and he didn't feel any pain anymore except for the bruises he had.

"Yeah, Aches Therapies don't work for bruises... They are too different things," Keith said with a bitter smile and continued his walk towards the exit of the forest. "The darned spirit leaf almost killed me."

"Shut the f**k up system! Can't you see I almost got killed?! I'm just going to go home, eat some pie, sink my head under the pillow, and doze off... You have no idea when I'm waking up," Keith said... He sounds silly, right? What pie? Has he forgot about the System Canteen?

Of course, when it comes to being silly, Keith was surely going to top the chart. Keith is a humble guy though, but when you try to mess up with him, boom! He messes you up first.

Right now, killing monsters is not his goal at all.

But you know, sometimes, when you don't chase your goal, your goal might come chasing after you.
