I took a step back at William’s answer. It didn’t prove anything but it meant he pretended like he didn’t know me when he already did.
I didn’t want to think William was capable of what that man said. I figured he didn’t have any reason to do that. I was even scared to ask more questions because, for some reason, I knew he was going to tell the truth.
