It took a while for the crowd to settle down,.. as we listened to everyone's opinions and response to Yera's scare.
Everything was positive.
But what really tugged on my heart was Yera's brother's wife's response .
How she recalled the stigma attached to her husband's death...
How this former chief's amazing legacy was dishonored by his death. ..
How his own father rejected him due to the way he died...
How the only reason he died was to save a person in their tribe...
a helpless child...
That thanks to him surived..
Although....
there were people closer...
but
they were hesitant ...
Probably they were fearful of getting scared their backs. ..
The trauma this tribe has gone through because of this stigma has caused so much suffering and divided so many families.
