Forgotten in a Beast world

“I kind of… just ended up... here? I am not sure of myself. Also, where is here? And who are you?”

“ I am Yera, Firstborn of Jaja. This is my territory in the region of Izwe and I am a warrior from the beast-man clan. Who are you? And where do you come from?”

Jip, still have no idea. It doesn’t sound like anything I have ever heard of. Well, clearly it doesn’t look like anything I ever have seen before either. This doesn’t seem to be the earth I know. And considering I might have teleported here by falling off a cliff. And if I look up, there are just trees with no cliffs close by, it can only mean this may have been a one-way trip. Might as well start adjusting.

“I am Sarah. And well, I am from earth and it doesn’t look like I can go back. So, is there a village nearby?”

He frowns at this. As if I am the one saying weird things. Which, in fairness, I am, but so is he.

“ I have never heard of this earth. But you seem to mean me no harm. So, I will take you to the village.”

Mean me no harm? Is this the emotion reading thing? Well, it sure beats explaining everything. He turns and starts to walk. What! He also has a tail. That is so cool. His tail is white with black stripes. I knew it, he just like a white tiger. I grab my backpack and follow him. His tail flicks now and then as he walks. He is as silent as a ghost and although his feet are so big, he cannot be heard as he gracefully walks in front of me. I, on the other hand, sound like an elephant stomping behind him. I struggle to keep up with his long strides. He notices this and slows his pace. I smile at his consideration. Maybe he is not such a bad guy.

After an hour of walking. A village comes into view. It is primitive and is made mostly of large huts and kraals (animal enclosers) which seem to house sheep/ goat-looking, creatures. There is a fence around the village and fields of crops in the back. As we enter the village, the people notice me and start to gather. The people of the village are of various ages, but what stands out the most is that they all have flaming orange hair with coal-black ears which match their flame-and–coal striped tails. It seems Yera is the only white-haired beast-man.
