COLTON’S POV. I have seated hours waiting for Mia to walk in through the doors, but there has been no sign of her. I shift my gaze to her mother who is dozing off on the sofa and her tired best friend who must be stressed from working at whatever office he works at. His computer placed on the throw pillow on his thighs is threatening fall as his eyes closes gradually in slits and I am tempted to catch it right before it hits the floor, but again I am not his fidus Achates and the last I remember he barged into my office and threatened to ruin me if I can’t protect Mia. I wouldn’t blame him though, anyone who is close enough to Mia would want to protect her. Clasping my hands, I slouch forward as I fix my eyes on the exit. If I do not see her after midnight, I will have my men search
