Amelia.
My eyes widened immediately I heard the words come out of the great Xavier's mouth, and my eyebrows narrowed quickly.
I felt my palms sweat and I swallowed uneasily. My chest began the irresistible rhythm, while I watched Alpha Oliver protest against what his father had said.
"No, Father! You can't possibly say that."
He protested, his face almost turning red.
"You have marked her, haven't you? And you know what the tradition says."
"And who cares about tradition that much, dad?"
There was a brief silence in the room, as the Great Xavier stared deeply into his eyes, "you remember what happened the last time we went to war?"
Alpha Oliver retracted immediately, his shoulders shoved down, and his eyes narrowed.
I couldn't tell what the war was about or what might have happened, but I could tell that his father's words were like cold water which flooded down him.
"Alright father. I'll do the right thing."
There was a brief silence, followed by a mild smile on Oliver's lips.
"I don't want to attract more of the moon goddess's curse," Oliver muttered.
His father smiled widely, and now I was lost, wondering what curse they were talking about.
His eyes lifted to me, and I shrugged. All this while, I squirmed at the corner, avoiding to make any sounds, not even with my breath.
I felt calmer when a warm smile carved over his lips again, "Welcome to our family, Amelia."
His words were soft, but my mind was blown away.
What? The great Xavier doesn't despise me?
The sweat on my palms increased, I robbed my hands over my dress, breath shutting down.
I didn't know how to react, I couldn't even smile back. Alpha Oliver's eyes were stuck on me, attempting to devour me.
When the Great Xavier realized that I was going to freeze if he didn't leave, he walked closer to where I was and tugged my shoulders gently. "Make yourself comfortable, you'll soon be Luna."
His eyes blinked hastily, his lips still curled up.
That would be the warmest smile I had seen all my life.
I managed to nod, then finally he headed out of the door.
That would have been a great time to exhale the whole air that had piled up my system, but Oliver was still in front of me.
His dreaded eyes plastered on me.
"Prepare for the party, tomorrow. "
His voice croaked and he stormed out of the room.
I sloughed over the seat immediately, trying to catch my breath back.
II had never seen an eye so dreadful.
I lifted the plates immediately, my legs moving to return the sandwich which the Alpha had abandoned, but I felt a strong pull into a very beautifully decorated room, with lots of strange smiles.
"You need to look nothing but absolutely perfect for our Alpha. "
One of the women said, before pushing me over to the bed.
It was a queen-sized bed. The decorations of the room screamed royalty. The sweet scent of the candle, the chandelier and the artwork were perfect enough to calm anyone.
There were about 3 ladies in the room. I haven't seen them in my few stays in the pack, but with their dress, I could tell they were prominent people in the palace.
"What on earth is going on here?"
I managed to ask, fighting the hands that held me, the others had started pulling off my clothes, while they wore me a very beautifully colored dress.
It was a long yellow dress that screamed royalty.
The jewelry flew over my neck, still no one cared to reply to me.
"What on earth is going on here?"
I howled, as everyone seemed to ignore, "You are going to be crowded Luna today."
"But it's not today, the Alpha said..."
"The Alpha later changed his mind."
Oliver's voice trickled into the room, and suddenly, I felt my inside melt.
He held my hands immediately, the women had all bowed to him and stood at the door.
"I realized I couldn't wait to make you mine."
He whispered, his lips kissing my cleavages.
Drops of water caressed my under, and my stomach had a huge yearning.
"Don't you think it's better?"
He asked rhetorically, making a nod, for the women to go ahead with the dressing.
Shortly, I was perfectly dressed and my makeup done.
I walked into the arena, to go sit beside my Alpha, and I could feel the glory of the starmoon pack pour over me.
The Great Xavier, the pack elders and some of the members of the pack, were in attendance.
They all stood as I walked towards the throne. Their eyes were on me in admiration.
Shortly after a brief process, the crown was placed on my head, followed by a resounding applause.
I couldn't even place my feelings.
Everything was happening so fast.
Alpha Oliver's gesture earlier on had miraculously calmed my nerves, at least I felt I was accepted by him.
But strangely, I turned to him, again, hoping he would hold my hands. That was what happened in ceremonies like this.
But my chest tightened when he scoffed.
"Don't lay your hands on me."
