"It's not funny," Reiss muttered, but his laugh had no effect on my laughing ass.
I covered my mouth and tried to catch my breath. "I said I wanted a distraction not a joke!"

Ceasing my laughter, I dragged my legs over to a crimson red sofa and plopped myself on it. "You're serious? You have a mate? For how long have you known?"
