Cindy He swung his legs back and forth, humming like he had no care in the world. I wondered if I was like that when I was younger. All I remembered was playing in the forest with pups and their parents. "What's your name?" He scratched his red head as if he couldn't remember it. "Caleb." "Well, Caleb, I'm Cindy." He offered me a little wave. "Hi, Cindy." Aww, my heart! "Hi, Caleb." I waved back. "Do you live in the packhouse with your family?" "No." Caleb shook his head. "We have our own house. It's to the right of the square. My mom let me paint a flower on the door!" So far he seemed like a simple kid. At least he wasn't caught up in whatever the heck was going on with the others.
