“No, no, no—watch the window!"
Zoe ducked as the blue orb narrowly missed the top of her head and careened off the thin strip of wall between two sets of windows. It landed on the tile floor and splintered.
“Sorry." I leaned against the bed. I'd been awake for four days now, and most of the time I felt completely normal. But every once in a while, fatigue crept up on me. Zoe assured me that it was normal, but I was impatient with myself. Not only did I still need a nap, but my telekinesis left something to be desired, too.
“Not your fault." She pulled a few stiff paper towels from the wall dispenser and knelt to brush up the pieces of glass. “You're doing much better. And your power is expanding. I should have realized that we would need a bigger space."
