The princess turned quickly at the sound of her lover's voice and she stood to her feet quickly.
"Carim," she muttered in a pained whisper and ran to him, holding his face in her palms and staring into his golden-brown eyes which had lost their sparks and now looked so dull. Her heart broke at the sight of him and without being told, she knew he had heard of the ridiculous news of her wedding. Nevertheless, she asked,
"What are you doing here, Carim?"
Shaking her hands of him, he stared deeply into her eyes like the answers to his questions was written in there.
