"Confused and curious"

1555 Words
"The path to the cabin was silent, and the alpha appreciated it; he hated talking to her. Although he knew the only reason that the annoying girl was keeping quiet was because of the unpleasant incident that had occurred after she stole those garments, just remembering it made him even more annoyed than he already was. He couldn't understand why she had done it, but he knew it could have ended much worse than it did, and they had taken a big risk for a simple foolish act. The sheriff could have shown up, and they could both end up in jail, or someone passing by might recognize the girl despite her disguise. He looked at the young woman and couldn't help but think how someone so clumsy and innocent could be a hunter. He couldn't imagine how this young girl before his eyes behaved so childishly, but he was sure that when she went hunting with her family, she was just as ruthless as they were. "Here it is," said Samael, pointing to one of the three cabins right at the entrance of the village. He looked around, and the place seemed much safer than he had imagined. It wasn't located on a main street but on a small unnamed road. The cabin had only two windows, one in the bedroom and the other in the kitchen, both facing the forest. But he didn't have to worry about it because this forest was harmless. It wasn't the "Forest of Lost Souls" where he lived; it was much farther away, so it would be unlikely for any pack members to come near. They would also be hidden from Abby's family, as they would search for her more in the city center than in that area. Everything about this hideout was perfect except for one thing - he would have to coexist in this small space with her. Samael inserted the key into the rusty lock and pushed open the old wooden door. The entire cabin was made of wood, like most houses here. He entered to make sure everything was in order, but as he did, a voice interrupted him. "Can I come in?" Abby asked, her gaze lowered. The alpha was surprised by how submissive the young woman was being, but then he noticed he was standing right in the middle of the doorway, blocking her path, and quickly moved aside. "Go ahead," he said, looking towards the forest and then returning his attention to the young woman, who was curiously looking around. Abby walked through the small kitchen and then headed to the bedroom. The two rooms were practically attached, with only a wardrobe separating them. Samael walked to the window facing the bedroom and looked outside. There were other cabins nearby, but he knew they were unoccupied, or at least, they appeared to be. This particular window overlooked another part of the forest, with the town located further south. He pulled the curtains shut and then turned his attention back to the young woman, who was now sitting on the bed. Abby's face was as flushed as when they found her stealing. And it was just now that she discovered that the cabin had only one bed, and it was one of those used by couples, so she would have to sleep next to the Alpha, or at least, that's how it seemed. "Here you go," said Samael, handing her the bag containing the garments. The young woman lowered her gaze and sighed; her breathing was irregular. One would have to be a fool not to realize that she was extremely embarrassed, but also excited, and Samael couldn't help but wonder if the reason behind her behavior was because of him, although he was sure it was. However, he continued to ignore all those signs, perhaps out of disdain or maybe to avoid succumbing to them. Samael took off his sweater almost in desperation. Those clothes seemed to suffocate him, and the heat he was feeling right now was intense, so he also took off his shirt, standing bare-chested in front of Abby, who was watching him with her mouth open. "Check if you have everything you bought," Samael commented, approaching her a few steps. The young woman took the bag and opened it, quickly glancing inside, then nodded, apparently unable to find her voice. "Are you sure everything is there?" Samael asked, furrowing his brow and restraining a slight smile that escaped from his face. Seeing her so nervous put him in a good mood, which was not typical for this ill-tempered man. "Yes," Abby whispered, lowering her gaze. The alpha hated it when she did that. "When you're talking to someone, you always have to look them in the eyes. If not, it's disrespectful," he said, placing one of his hands on her chin and forcing her to look at him. "I'm sorry," she quickly replied, then bit her lower lip, which was trembling. This action did not go unnoticed by Samael, who was almost hypnotized, watching the young woman's mouth. "What do you regret? I imagine it's because your recklessness almost exposed us in front of everyone," he asked, pretending to be upset. However, if he was honest, right now the last thing he was feeling was anger. If he had to describe in simple words how he felt at the moment, he would use two words to define it: "confused and curious." "I'm sorry," the young woman repeated, about to lower her gaze again, but the alpha prevented her. "No matter how hard I try not to get angry with you, it seems like you're determined to do everything to annoy me," he said, diverting his gaze again to Abby's lips. He felt the young woman's heart race forcefully, and he could see the exact moment when a husky sigh escaped her mouth. His instinct had once again taken control of his body, and right now, he only desired to join his lips with those of the huntress, but he couldn't do it, as he fortunately remembered who she was and who he was. That's when he searched for something in the pocket of his pants with the hand that was still free, and he took out the underwear she had stolen. "The next time, just ask for it, and I'll buy it for you," said Samael in a husky voice. "Okay," replied Abby, looking at the luscious lips of the alpha. At this point, her eyes begged for him to kiss her. She had never been kissed before, but she was sure that the desperation she felt right now wasn't just because it would be her first time, but also because of how sensual this werewolf man was. Samael was sculpted by the gods themselves, and although he appeared perfect at first glance, his inner self was horrible, and a part of Miss Hamilton knew that, but she still refused to see it. Abby took the underwear and something in her core trembled. She was certain that her heart was now beating so fast that everyone in the village could hear it, but she didn't regret it because she couldn't think of anything other than the closeness she had with this man. Samael's face approached hers. They were at such a short distance that Abby believed he would kiss her, so she closed her eyes, anticipating that contact, but it never happened. "Go take a shower, while you do that, I'll go guard the perimeter," said Samael, letting go of her abruptly. Abby opened her eyes and watched as the figure of that man simply moved away until she couldn't see him anymore. She couldn't even stop him from leaving because Samael didn't give her time to react and he quickly left that cabin. Meanwhile, the young woman placed her hand on her chest and tried to breathe slowly to calm her racing heartbeats, but she couldn't, as her heart was galloping strongly. Then she bit her lower lip forcefully, as if punishing herself for even thinking about having closer contact with this brown-eyed man. She wasn't sure what had just happened moments ago, but she couldn't stop thinking about Samael's lips, let alone his body. She had never felt this way before, her whole skin seemed to burn, and she was so hot that she doubted they were really in the middle of winter. Abby looked at the cabin where she was going to spend at least two days with the alpha, and she blushed when she noticed that the room only had one bed. She didn't know much about relationships, not more than what she had overheard from her siblings' conversations, but apparently, when two bodies come together, magical things happen, or at least that's what she had heard, and that's what she wanted to experience right now. But was Samael feeling the same way? That man was inscrutable, and despite treating her better now, there was no guarantee that he felt the same attraction she did. Abby sighed and lay down on the bed, unknowingly falling into a deep sleep. Meanwhile, in the solitude of a dark corner, someone observed her, feeling a bit confused by the desires that her skin begged to fulfill. Curiosity killed the cat, but could it defeat the wolf?
