James, I Hate Coffee

2021 Words
I’ve been working out for hours. But I’m still angry as hell. Why'd Austin half to bug me? Why’d ‘Mother’ overdose? Did she know I have Brothers? Or I was rich through blood money? Or by being a fashion designer? I sighed, and stopped punching the bag. And walk away. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, so I headed to the Library.  Once I was in the Library, I walked over to the penio, and played and sang One Woman Army by Porcelain Black. [Chorus] I’m on the battlefield Like, oh my God (ooh la la) Knocking soldiers down Like house of cards (ooh la la) I’m a one woman army (ooh la la) Yes, I’m a one woman army (ooh la la, ooh la la, ooh la la) [Verse 1] I pull up in a matte black supercar Like Whitney, yeah No bodyguard I’m Styling on em gettin him I got it, I bring all the boys to the yard You see me at the club in Hollywood You know I bring that Detroit hood You like it, and you feelin’ good You know that you want it You know that you would [Pre-Chorus 1] Let’s March tonight The music is still playin’ So get up and fight You know that you want it You know that you would [Chorus] I’m on the battlefield Like, oh my God (ooh la la) Knocking soldiers down Like house of cards (ooh la la) I’m a one woman army (ooh la la) Yes, I’m a one woman army (ooh la la, ooh la la, ooh la la) [x2] [Verse 2] I hit you with that kung-fu Jackie Chan Boom, boom, boom, pow I’m super fast High heels, big deal I kick your ass They’re gunnin’, they’re runnin’ And that makes me mad If you wanna rumble All you gotta do is ask I’m a rude b***h, boy Can you handle that? I love music! I thought to myself with a small smile. For the first time since his death… I was smiling, not smirking. Not a fake smile. A real one.. Then I heard the door open. I didn’t bother to see who it was, cuz I don’t care. “ Aria, I was worried about you. “ Allen said, softly. “ Allen, where in the world would I go? Somehow, someway you and your Brother would have found me. So running is pointless, because I would come back willingly or not. “ I told Allen from what I have obvired. Then I took the smile off my face. “ Aria, while that is true, we do love you. We would walk through Hell with you. “ Allen began, but I interrupted. “ Allen, I don’t want you to walk through hell with me. I know my way out by now. In fact I’m friends with the devil himself. “ I told Allen, as calmly as I could. “ You’re past does not define you, Aria. “ Allen told me. “ My past does define me, you can’t say it didn’t. If it didn’t I would be a different person. “ I said to Allen. “ I need to get going to school, Allen. “ I said, getting up and walking to the front of the house. I heard them calling my name, but I didn’t look back.  After about 10 minutes, I arrived at school and walked to my locker. And got greeted by James, the guy’s who’s seat I stole twice on my first day. “ What do you want James? “ I asked, not caring if I sounded rude. “ Well Aria! I want to know if you’ll sit with me at lunch. “ James said, with much emoseasim. “ Why? “ I asked, in a bored tone. “ Look Aria, you sit by yourself everyday. If you sit my someone you’re, in your own little world. “ James said. And truth be told I wanted to piss off my ‘Brothers’ right now. “ Fine. “ I said, putting all the books I don’t need in my locker. “ Really? “ James asked, shocked. “ Yes. “ I said, shutting my locker and walking away. But James ran after me. “ Are you sick? “ James asked, conserened. I sighed, walking into, homeroom. And sat next to James. “ Look James, you seem like a nice guy. And I don’t trust easily, be happy I acknowledged you today. “ I said, taking out my work and working on it. Then James looked at me weirdly. “ Yes? “ I asked, nicely.  “ Austin, your brother, is staring at us. “ James said, beginning to work. I let out a light chuckle, shaking my head. They were making sure I made it to school. Then I glared at Austin, I might be closer to him then any of my ‘Brothers’ but he still hurt me. Too bad I didn’t have my phone. I said to myself sadly. Oh wait! I have a backup phone.  After a few minutes I got up and handed in my work, just as the bell rang. I walked out before Austin had a chance to talk to me.  After another 2 hours of school it was lunch.  “ Aria! “ I heard James call me. “ Yes? “ I asked, when James was standing next to me. “ You still gonna sit with me and my friends? “ James asked. “ No, I waited for you for no reason. “ I said, with complete sarcasm as James rolled his eyes. Then I followed James to his table. “ Who’s this beauty? “ Some boy asked. “ Aria Queen. Who are you? “ I said, sweetly. “ Justin. “ He said, smiling. “ I like your personality. “ I told Justin, returning the smile. “ Will you be the Barbie to my Ken? “ Some else asked. “ Nope. I would have considered it if you haven’t said that though. “ I said, to the guy. “ Well, I’m Ken. “ Ken said, sadly. As the table burst out laughing. Then the whole Cafe looked at us. “ Are we supposed to entertain you? No? Okay so get eating. “ I said, to the whole Cafe in a scary tone. “ Well. “ The mysterious guy began. “ I like you, Aria. I’ve observed you since you came here. You’re not like those attention seeking whores. “ He finished. “ I’m glad you approve. But I didn’t ask for your approval? No? “ I said/asked. “ By the way what’s your name? “ I asked him. “ Thomas. “ He said, with a smirk. “ I like your group of Friends. “ I told James. Then they all awd. Great! I thought to myself, they act like girls. I rolled my eyes at the thought. “ Can I have your phones? “ I asked them all. They gave their phones to me without hesitation. Wow! I thought, putting my number into their phone. After I was done I gave them back. “ You need passwords in your phones. “ I told them, shaking my head. Then my phone dinged. It was from Ace. Why are you so mad? - Ace. I’m human, Ace. I’m allowed to be mad. - Aria. Will, is sorry you know. - Ace. That’s a lie and we all know it. - Aria. Then I turned off my phone as the bell rang. And I switched out my books when Will walked over to me. I sighed deeply. “ Aria, I didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you so mad? “ Will said/asked. “ Will, you basically said I’m useless because I’m a girl. And no one defended me. Will, I want to stop fighting with your ‘Brothers’ but they don’t see, to understand why I do what I do. I understand why they don’t. But the way you said it meant I was meant to be married off and look after the children. “ I told Will, truthfully, walking into class. After school I walked to the park. I sat down on the same bench I did on the first day of school. Then I got a text from J. How are you? - J. Not too good. You? - Aria. Not too good either. - J. Why? - Aria. I was told I needed to settle down. - J. Damn. Well I was told I was not meant for this life and I was supposed to be married off and take care of my kids.  Damn. Well I need to go A. I hope things go better for us. - J. I hope so too. - A. I sighed as I felt someone sit beside me. “ Aria, are you okay? “ James asked. “ No, James I never was okay. “ I told him, honestly. “ Why not? “ He asked, conserened. “ My ‘Brothers’ seem to oppose everything I stand for. “ I said to James, facing him. “ I know how you feel but instead of brothers. I got parents. “ James said, sourly. I sighed. “ You know talking to you takes a weight off my shoulders. “ I said to James. James smiled softly. “ Me too. “ He replied, with a small laugh. This time I smiled softly. We sat there in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. Then my phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D. it was Austin. I declined the call. “ Who was calling you? “ James asked. “ Austin. “ I said, to James looking at the kids at the playground. “ Isn’t he the one your the closest to? “ James asked. “ Yeah, but I don’t want to talk to him or the others. “ I said, to James getting up. Suddenly wanting Ice Cream. “ Want some Ice Cream? “ I asked James. “ My treat. “ I added. James smiled. “ Yeah. But can I ask you some questions? “ James asked/said. “ Yes, of course. “ I replied. “ Why’d you move here? “ James asked. “ I’m 17 years old, not old enough to live on my own. My Mother died of an Overdose, and my Father did want custody of me but I refused to go with him. “ I told James. “ Why? “ James asked. “ My Father had 6 other kids, James. I wanted nothing to do with them or him. “ I said, to James in the Ice cream section of the store. “ Huh. You know you’re different from other girls… They would be falling for my looks by now. “ James said, confidently. “ James, I won’t deny your hotness. But all the men in my life have disappointed me. “ I said, grabbing Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. James grabbed Coffee Ice Cream, I wrinkled my nose because it was gross. James laughed at me. “ I thought all girls liked coffee. “ James said, I looked at him like he wa dum. “ James, I hate Coffee. I like hot coco though. “ I told him, calmly. Then my phone rang. I pick up not bothering to cheek the caller I.D. “ Hello, this is the North Pole. How may I help you? “ I answered. Then James burst out laughing as I paid for the food. “ Hello, Aria. “ Allen said. “ You need to come home now. “ Allen demained, in a ‘scary voice’. “ Nah. I’m good. “ I said to Allen, grabbing James and walking out of the store. “ Aria. “ Allen growled. “ Yes? “ I asked annoyed. “ Come home please. “ Allen said. “ Coming. “ I said, hanging up the phone.  “ Need to go home James. I’ll see you tomorrow though. “ I said, sadly to James. “ Bye. “ James said, hugging me and grabbing his Ice Cream.
