I woke to the soft sound of her snore. For a moment, I just lay there, watching her. Even in the middle of all this chaos, she was my calm—my peace, my joy. With the babies on the way, I couldn’t wait to see what our future held.
“Good morning,” I murmured, brushing my lips across her hair as her eyes slowly fluttered open.
“Morning…” she whispered with a warm smile, curling her arms tighter around me like we weren’t already tangled together.
“Hungry?” I asked, teasing.
“For you, yes,” she shot back, that mischievous smile tugging at her lips. I tickled her lightly, making her laugh, her blue eyes sparkling with unspoken happiness.
Her phone buzzed. She reached for it, but I stopped her, my hand closing over hers.
“Not now. No phones. Just me and you.”
