Marietta I heard a knock and knew instantly it was Joyce. I rose on my bed, still drowsy. She carried the breakfast tray carefully and dropped it on my bed. A sad look on her face. “You do plan on eating here every day, huh?” I picked up a bacon and chewed on it. “Tell me Joyce if your family mistreated you like mine did to me, would you consider them family?” She lowered her eyes. “It's just that your father asks about you.” “Tell him I am fine.
