AREUM’s POV
“How would you like a nice haircut, Areum?” Seungkwan suddenly asked.
“A haircut?” I exclaimed.
“Yeah. We will just trim your hair a bit. What do you think?”
I shook my head. “I can’t. I’m not allowed to cut my hair.”
“Why not?”
“Mermaids can’t cut hair. It’s a sin.”
Seungkwan seemed suspicious. “M-mermaids? You’re a mermaid?” he eyed me warily. “Oh, I see.” It was clear he didn’t believe me at all because he seemed to burst out in a loud laugh.
It’s a good thing he didn’t push about cutting my hair. I liked my hair long and it was a mortal sin for us mermaids to cut our hair, only our husband had the right to cut it after our marriage.
“Seungkwan, can I ask you something?” I asked after taking a sip of cola on the straw.
