As Rory walked through the door, she found herself in a long, dark corridor. The walls were made of cold, grey stone, and the air was thick with the scent of dampness.
She started to walk, her footsteps echoing off the walls. As she walked, she noticed that the corridor seemed to be shifting and twisting around her. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being herded towards some unknown destination.
Suddenly, the corridor opened up into a large, cavernous space. Rory's eyes widened as she took in the sight before her.
The room was filled with rows of ancient, dusty bookshelves. The air was thick with the scent of old parchment and leather.
Rory's eyes scanned the room, searching for any sign of Azrael or the group. But she was alone.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She knew she had to be careful, that she had to think clearly if she was going to survive.
As she looked around the room, Rory noticed a figure standing in the shadows. It was a woman, tall and gaunt, with long silver hair and eyes that seemed to bore into Rory's soul.
"Welcome, Rory," the woman said, her voice low and husky. "I've been waiting for you."
Rory's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. Who was this woman? And what did she want with Rory?
But before she could ask any questions, the woman started to move towards her, her eyes fixed intently on Rory's face.
Rory felt a surge of fear as the woman approached her. She didn't know what was happening, or what this woman wanted from her.
But she knew she had to be careful. She knew she had to think clearly if she was going to survive.
As the woman reached out to touch her, Rory felt a sudden jolt of energy. It was as if she had been electrified, her body tingling with a strange, otherworldly power.
The woman's eyes seemed to gleam with excitement as she touched Rory's face. "Yes," she whispered. "I can see it. You have the power."
Rory's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. What power? And what did this woman want from her?
But before she could ask any questions, the woman's eyes seemed to glaze over, and she fell to the ground, unconscious.
Rory was left standing alone, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't know what was happening, or what this woman wanted from her.
But she knew she had to get out of there. She knew she had to escape.
As she looked around the room, Rory noticed a small door hidden behind one of the bookshelves. It was slightly ajar, and Rory could see a sliver of light coming from the other side.
She didn't hesitate. She pushed open the door and stepped through it, into the unknown.
As she walked, Rory found herself in a beautiful, sunlit garden. The air was filled with the scent of flowers, and the sound of birds singing.
Rory's eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. She had never seen anything so beautiful.
But as she walked through the garden, Rory couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She looked around, but there was no one in sight.
Suddenly, Rory heard a voice behind her. "Welcome, Rory," it said. "I've been waiting for you."
Rory spun around, her heart pounding in her chest. And that's when she saw him. Azrael. Standing in front of her, a smile on his face.
Rory's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. What did Azrael want from her? And why had he brought her to this beautiful garden?
But before she could ask any questions, Azrael started to speak. "Rory, you have a special gift," he said. "A gift that could change the course of history."
Rory's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. What gift? And what did Azrael mean?
But before she could ask any questions, Azrael reached out and took her hand. "Come," he said. "I'll show you."
As Azrael led Rory through the garden, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. There was something about Azrael that didn't quite add up, something that made her feel like she was walking into a trap.
But despite her reservations, Rory couldn't deny the sense of excitement that was building inside her. Azrael had promised to show her something incredible, something that would change her life forever.
As they walked, the garden seemed to grow more and more beautiful. The flowers were more vibrant, the trees more towering, and the air more filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
Rory felt like she was walking into a dream world, a world that was more vivid and more real than anything she had ever experienced before.
Finally, they came to a large stone door hidden behind a waterfall. Azrael pushed the door open, revealing a dimly lit chamber filled with rows of ancient stone pedestals.
On each pedestal was a large, leather-bound book. The books were adorned with strange symbols and markings that seemed to glow with an otherworldly light.
Rory's eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. "What is this place?" she asked Azrael, her voice barely above a whisper.
Azrael smiled, his eyes glinting with excitement. "This is the Library of the Ancients," he said. "Here, you will find the secrets of the past, the present, and the future."
Rory's eyes scanned the shelves, taking in the sheer scope of the library. "What do you want me to do?" she asked Azrael, her heart pounding with anticipation.
Azrael's smile grew wider. "I want you to open one of the books," he said. "I want you to unlock the secrets of the Library of the Ancients."
Rory's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. Which book should she open? And what secrets would she unlock?
But before she could ask any questions, Azrael reached out and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Trust me, Rory," he said. "You have the power to unlock the secrets of the library. Just choose a book, and let the magic begin."
