Cousins?

"My Cousins?"

"Yes Anna, your cousins" My aunt said, no emotion showed on her face, looks like she wasn't happy about their coming.

"I am Aarlan" the boy said stretching his hands out for a handshake which I politely shook.

"I am Aquamarine, but call me Aqua" the girl said with a smile.

"Nice to meet you guys, sorry about the sword" I chuckled.

"So Anna, why don't you go have some rest while I show them to their rooms" My aunt said.

"Uh ok, goodnight I guess" I said and left them by the entrance.

Getting to my room, I locked the door, and fell straight on my bed, I was exhausted, glad the day was over.

My phone beeped, it was a message from my Best friend "Kristen". She and her parents spent the summer holiday in Paris.

Kris: Hey bud, I missed you, will be back by tomorrow morning.

Me: Finally, I can stop being weird in school.

Kris: Have a social life dummy.

Me: Eww, what's that?

Kris: Oh you are such and i***t. ?‍♀

Me: I love you too?

Kris: Let me take a quick nap, see you tomorrow at our usual spot by 11, don't be late.

Me: When have I ever been late? ?

Kris: Uhmm let's see, All the time?

Me: Whatever, see you tomorrow at 11, bye nacho.

Kris: Bye burrito.

I switched off my phone after Kris sent the last message.

Finally I can get some shut eye now.

'The next morning'

I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing at 8am.

Thank God, it's a Saturday. I took a shower, brushed my teeth and rushed downstairs for breakfast, the scent of bacon filled the whole house, my aunt was really an excellent cook.

Reaching the dining, I heard voices arguing, it was my aunt and cousins, when they saw me, they pretended and stopped the argument.

"Uhm hi, did I interrupt anything" I asked awkwardly.

"No no, your cousins were just arguing about what car we should get you, they want you to make an awesome first impression" My aunt said.

"Ok, first of all, I don't want to make any impression, second of all, I am getting a BMW bike, I am so tired of cars" I smirked.

"Well thank you cousin, it is worthless arguing with Aarlan here, he acts like he has brain block" Aqua laughed.

"Hey, that's not true" Aarlan frowned.

"Whatever bro".

"Anyways Anna, have a sit, let me get you your breakfast" My aunt said.

I sat down next to Aqua, my aunt brought my food and set it before me.

"Toast and bacon for the day, looks like its my lucky day" I grinned.

"Well I just decided to make your favorite today" My Aunt smiled.

"Thank you aunt".

"So Aarlan, Aqua, will you be attending same high school as me?"

"Of course, we will be going shopping today" Aarlan squeaked like a baby.

"Wanna tag along?" Aqua asked.

"Nah, my best friend is on her way back, so I am meeting up with her by 11".

"Oh Kristen right?" Aarlan said out if nowhere.

"How did you?" I eyed him suspiciously.

"Your Aunt mentioned her" Aqua cut in.

"Okay" I said still not convinced.

"So Anna we will be going now, catch ya later" Aqua said.

"See ya" Aarlan saluted.

They went through the door and I released a breath I didn't know I was holding, there is something about them that have me tensed up anytime I am around them.

"Anna, I will be going out with some friends too" My aunt said.

"Okay aunt"

"Tell Kristen I said hi" My aunt said.

"I will" I smiled.

My aunt went upstairs to get ready, I finished with my food and put the dishes away and went back to my room, I sat on my reading desk, headphones on while I worked on some designs on my laptop. I am a designer.

After 2 whole hours of working, it was 10:30 already.

"s**t, Kris is gonna kill me" I chuckled.

I shut down my laptop. I decided to pick a simple outfit, black joggers with a white crop and white nike sneakers.

"10:45, I have just 15 minutes left s**t!, and the drive to our tree house is f*****g 20 minutes" I yelled at myself.

I took the fastest car in our mansion, my aunt's black cheetah. I drove as fast as I could, I am lucky there was no police in sight.

I arrived there exactly 11:01. Kristen's white truck was parked already.

"Oh no, I am in for another lecture"

I went to the bench opposite the tree house where I knew Kristen would be.

She sat on the bench with her legs crossed, she was on her phone.

"You are late" Kris said not looking from her phone. I jumped on her startling her.

"b***h" she said with a grin.

"I missed you too" I said sarcastically. She hugged me so tight.

"Can't breathe Kris" I said pretending to be out of breath.

"You are always late" she released me from the hug and crossed her arms.

"I am sorry, I was carried away with my designs"

"Well that's a good reason" she shrugged.

"Let's get inside the treehouse, I am hungryyy" I groaned.

"Okay, lets go" Kris said leading the way.
