Eva

We ran all night and through the morning when I began to notice the scents around me changing. We were no longer in Forest Pack lands I wondered how much longer before we reached the pack house.

Finally Simon stopped by a fallen tree so we could sit down and rest.

“ how much longer until we reach the pack house?” I asked.

“Maybe a half hour more and we should be there. But I want to talk to you first and explain a few things.” Simon responded.

I could feel his energy and new he was nervous. A lot had happened in the last few days and I’m sure he was still processing everything.

He looked down into my eyes. “I am now the Alpha of the smallest pack left in this part of the world. I want you to be my Luna and stay by my side. It I will not force you to do anything you truly aren’t ready for. I must know that you are sure. That you are sure you want to stay mated to me and help me lead this pack.”

I was quite a moment before I answered him. I wasn’t sure how to express what I was feeling so instead I leaped towards him and planted my lips on his. I kissed him and ran my fingers through his hairs I was his and he was mine and nothing was going to get in my way.

He knew exactly how I felt after I pulled away from our kiss. Without saying another word we got up and made our way to the pack house.

Simon

When Eva kissed me it took everything I had not to go any farther. My body ached for her but I didn’t want to force anything. I knew how her parents were and that they had forced her to be someone else her entire life and I would not do the same. When she pulled away from our kiss I knew we needed to run so I didn’t grab her and start at it again. I could sit here in the woods with her all day admiring her beauty.

It wasn’t long before we could see the pack house. I howled to announce our presence and the one of the guards answered back letting me know it was safe. As Eva and I made our way through the front doors I felt embarrassed. She was used to much grander things and our pack house was much smaller then she would be used to. When I looked over at her I noticed a smile making its way across her face and she looked content.

“ I know it’s small but it’s cozy. I can give you a tour if you would like?”

Evas face lit up and she nodded in agreement. I grabbed her hand and lead her to the kitchen.

“ on the first floor we have the dining area and kitchen.” We walked around the giant oak table.

“ Across the hall here is my father’s… or my study I should say.” I tried holding back the gulp in my throat but I was sure she could see my sadness. I guess it would be awhile before I came to terms with being an orphan.

“ There are two guest bedrooms on this floor with their own bathrooms and we have four rooms upstairs. The Alphas suite and the rest are for any future pups we may have.”

I noticed her blush. Ugh, way to go I thought to myself. You’re freaking her out and she’s barely been here ten minutes!

She grabbed my hand again “ it’s all right. I happy to be here.” She must’ve noticed my embarrassment.

I lead her up the stairs and showed her to My room. “ this is where I sleep and you can have this room across from me for now if you would like.”

“ that sounds great.” Eva said.

“ i can leave you to get situated for awhile. It’s been a long night and I’m sure you are tired. I can have the maid come up for you at dinner time. Will that work?”

“Sounds perfect.”

I walked out of her room and closed the door.

Eva

He closed the door behind him and I plopped down on the bed. I looked around the room taking note of every detail. The bed was soft and had a pretty blue comforter. The walls were a light grey and had pictures of flowers hung on them, there was a white vanity with a long mirror and a plush chair in the corner. I got up to open the two doors on the far wall, one was to a private bathroom and the other to a small walk in closet. It was simple but nice. I put my back pack down on the floor and walked over to the large window. I pulled back the blue curtains and looked in to the court yard. There were very few people out walking around. There were a few gardens and some smaller homes along the west of the pack house. Children ran and played along the rivers edge that flowed to the east.

After awhile of watching out the window it hit me how tired I really was. I went back to the bed and laid down. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.

I woke suddenly to the sound of knocking on the door.

“ come in.”

“ Hello Luna Eva, I have come to inform you of dinner. Alpha Simon is waiting in the dining hall.”

Luna Eva? That was weird to hear! I was sure by now that the entire pack knew that their Alphas mate was here but I wasn’t expecting that title so soon.

I panicked for a moment thinking of what to wear. I hadn’t grabbed much when I was hurrying before. After dumping out my back pack I picked a yellow cotton shirt and a pair of black leggings. It wasn’t really dinner attire but it was the best I had.

I walked down the stairs and turned the corner entering the dining hall. There he was, sitting at the end of the table taking a drink of water. He saw me and stood up pulling out the chair next to him.

After sitting in the seat he poured me a glass of water as well.

“Did you sleep well my sweat?” he asked.

“Yes, thank you. I’m sorry I am dressed like this, I didn’t bring much with me.” I knew my checks were blushing.

“ don’t worry about it Eva, tomorrow I will have one of the maids and a guard take you in to our pack village. It’s small but we will get you anything you need.” He smiled at me.

The maids brought out our plates of food. There was a piece of chicken and mashed potatoes with asparagus on the side. It looked lovely.

“ I hope you like it. I wasn’t sure what you liked to eat.” The way Simon fawned over me made my heart swell. How could I be so lucky to have such a sweat mate. Even if things were difficult during these times I knew in my heart we would have the love story of a lifetime.

Simon

After dinner I asked Eva if she would like to go for a walk. We made our way out the back door of the pack house and I started showing her the village. Everyone we passed stopped and waved and few of the children ran up to hug my legs.

I could see Eva smiling and she thanked everyone we passed for welcoming her. I wasn’t sure how her pack worked but knowing her father like I did I had a feeling it wasn’t like this.

Eva shivered and I pulled her in close. Her shivering stopped and Rajat was getting excited about being so close.

“ we must Mate before Alpha Cole and Alpha Stone come for her. We must keep her safe. If we mate they can’t take her from us.” Rajat was very matter of fact.

“ I will not mate her until she is ready. She is safe with us.” I pushed Rajat to the back of my mind.

I knew he wasn’t wrong but I was going to take our time. Once we mated and I marked her no one could break our bond. Only death could sever it.

Eva

I was enjoying walking through the village and meeting the different members. Watching them interact with Simon amazed me! Even the children ran up to him. At the Forest Pack everyone feared my father and mother and wouldn’t even look them in the eye.

A shiver ran up my spine as the breeze got colder and colder. Simon must’ve noticed because he pulled me close to him. He was so warm and it felt so good to be close to him. I could feel Aelia dancing in my mind being so close to our mate. She lit a fire deep inside me that wanted to be even closer to him.

I couldn’t believe the thoughts she had running through my mind. I wanted him, all of him.

I knew how this worked. I had been taught it my entire life. We had to mate to finalize our bond and he would need to mark me. Only then would I truly be his Luna. I didn’t want to come on to strong and I was sure that I was ready but I felt an urgency to get it done.

“Can we head back in doors?” I asked.

“Whatever you like my sweat.” He said.

Once back at the pack house Simon lead me up the stairs. We stopped at my bedroom door and both fell silent. I could feel the s****l tension between us and I wasn’t sure we could hold back.

He looked down at me and raised my chin up to him. Simon kissed me, passionately. The next thing I knew I was against the wall and his hand made its way up my shirt. He grabbed the small of my back and pulled me in to him. I moaned in pleasure.

He went to pull away and catch his breath but I wasn’t done. I walked away from my bedroom door straight for his. I looked him in the eyes and said “ well are you coming?”

Simon

I follow her like a lost puppy in to my bedroom. There was an almost animal like desire for her body I couldn’t ignore. She walked over to my bed and sat down. The look in her eyes told me everything I needed to know.

“ are you sure Eva.”

“ yes Simon. I am yours and you are mine.”

That was it. I took off my shirt and laid her back on the bed kissing her intently. Rajat was going crazy in my mind and I had to ignore him.

I pulled her shirt off exposing her bra and kissed down her neck. She moaned and ran her fingers up and downs my arms.

As quickly as we started we both stopped freezing in horror. We both heard it at the same time. The howl. The howl of Alpha Stone announcing his presence.

We both jumped out of bed getting dressed quickly and ran down the stairs.

I saw Tyler bent over by the door trying to catch his breath.

“ What is going on!” I snarled.

“I ran as fast as I could, both Alpha Stone and Alpha Cole are here, Im assuming they won’t leave without Eva.”

“ there is no way in hell they will be taking her tonight or any other night.” I grabbed Evas hand and she was shaking. I knew she didn’t want to leave and I would protect her with my life.

I stepped outside and looked over to the River. On the other side I saw Alpha Stone and Alpha Cole with both Blaze and Titus behind them. There were about a dozen warriors with them as well but I was sure there were more in the woods undercover. Alpha Stone and I locked eyes.

He turned away from me instructing one of his men to cross the river and head towards the pack house. He stood before me and announced himself.

“ I am John of the Mountain Pack and I bring a message from Alpha Stone.” He said.

“ we’ll go ahead.” I rolled my eyes at him.

“ Alpha Stone challenges you for title of Alpha over the River Pack. The challenge will be to the death. If you win Alpha Stone gives his word to leave the River Pack alone but will no longer consider you part of the three. If you lose he will take the River pack as his own and Eva will marry his son Blaze.”

I could feel my cheeks burning red as rage rushed through me.

“ I accept the challenge on one condition. Our dual will not be held at the Mountain Pack arena but at the Forest Pack.” I turned away from John and looked back in to Alpha Stones eyes.

I nodded towards him and turned my back to him. I grabbed Evas hand and went back in to the Pack house. Tyler would make the arrangements with Alphas Stones beta and would fill me in later.

Eva walked by my side as we entered the pack house.

She looked up at me and said “ there is something I need to tell you. I saw you shift by the river after the ceremony. I saw your wolf. I don’t know what you can do yet but I know it will be great. Please be prepared for this challenge, I don’t want to leave you.” She hugged me with tears in her eyes and I pulled her close.

“Let’s get you to bed my sweat, there will be much to do tomorrow.” I lead her back up the stairs to her bedroom door. I gave her a kiss and put her in bed.

There was no time for me to sleep. I had to find Minerva and see what all I could do.
