Part 7 The country of Thron. It is a small country consisted of only two villages. Despite of the low number of citizens in it, it is an independent state that has a vast land. The civilization lies in its capital- the village of Stargazer. It is currently night time. Most of the people in this city is already resting in their own houses. If one where to view this town atop a very high vantage point, you can see that only a few homes are still having their lights on. It was a very peaceful night. Or so what one can assume. Two of the guards wearing a suit of armor that do not fit them are walking to the borders with their spears in hand. They are chasing a kid to get him to custody. They decided that they will look for him tomorrow after their turn to guard the gates. Nobody else is in sight. The silent road feels very cold but it is already a normal sight to them. To them, this is what it feels like home. "I am worried about the kid.", says the taller between the two guards. He is talking about the kid whose an orphan after losing both of his mother and father. He is the only kid in this village that do not have someone to take care of him in lieu of his parents so they consistently tries to look after him despite of their own duties as guards of the border. The other pats his comrade several times in the shoulder to ease his worries. "Don't worry. Surely there is someone taking home this time. He will be safe." "You say that but you are surely thinking about him. Why don't we go around one more time?", the smaller suggested. He can see the taller's repeated swinging of the spear. He knew him for so long that he is certain that he is surely worrying about the kid. They are already a few steps away to the border gates as their conversation drags on. The both of them look at each other and give their final decision on this matter. The small one is the first to speak between the two of them. "We cannot turn back now. We can only hope that there is someone kind enough to take him in. If the innkeeper sees him, he will surely drag him to sleep with him. I can only hope." "As I said, do not worry about him. He will be safe. After all, there will be no monster to attack him here as long as we do our jobs properly. " "You're right. I do hope so." "Let's go." The border guards decided to take their hats off the matter for tonight and do their duties. The steps to return to town had vanished and they took their steps towards their posts as they diligently awaits for a good outcome tomorrow. The night is still long. In this country, the nights are filled with silence as the darkness swallow everything. Every people are spending their time with their families. Two people are silently eating their meal. An orb of flame serving as their light. There is also a mother and her disabled son who is preparing to rest for the night. The former is prepping the bed as the son lifelessly views the abyss while seating on his wooden wheelchair. There are also houses with some voices of children playing around. A cozy wooden house with some people talking with each other. They are the ones who decided to speak about the events that happened today with each other. A smile on their faces from time to time as they tell their own stories. Others are outside patrolling the borders and their villages diligently even if it means they will lack some sleep. And there is also a kid without a home of his own. A kid who do not want to stay in a place where his family isn't found, who do not have a house he can call home. Bearing the color of the night on his hair and the colors of the bright ocean on his eyes, he traverse the forest bearing no other burden but hope. He silently escapes the eyes of everyone around him and go to someplace- Outside the borders. Part 8 He can still remember that day. The time when his father took him to the forest for a walk. There is only the two of them. With calluses from training with his sword, he felt warm from the hands holding his arm. He can still remember the smile he smile always give him. A smile he cannot hope to see again. Even if everyone around him pretends to care about him, he will never forget the true warmth that he felt from his family. He remembers what he said to him at that day. It is so clear as if he can still vividly hear him say it. "If you ever feel lonely, you can come here." The moment his father stopped, he look at his front. "Wow!" It was a wonderful sight. He can feel his breath stopping as he let his eyes capture the scenery on his front. It is a lake. A beautiful lake that can only be found outside their country. It is full of all sorts of flowering plants that it felt as if they are coloring the surroundings. The lake is so blue that it is shining brightly as it refracts the sunlight passing through it. It felt as if it was taken from a painting. It felt so surreal. "If you ever feel lonely, you can come here." Those were the words that he said that day. A few days before he goes to the war in a faraway country. He said it is for the safety of everyone here. He said he will return home once everything is over. He said that he will carry me lots when he returns home. A promise that was never fulfilled. For the sake of a war in a place far from his reach, he was not able to see him again. The kid walks further the forest as he tries to look for that place that reminds him most about his father. Despite of the promises being broken, it is no doubt the place where his loneliness subside. He has a father who is selfish. Someone who breaks his promise and never return. He left for so long that his mother had gotten sick from waiting for so long. He cannot stop what happened after- The death of his mother. Yet he still live. He feels so lonely. This is the only place where he can feel some kind of solace. He reminds himself of all the happy memories as he steps foot on the grassy area towards the lake. He stopped when he finally reaches the place. A place he cannot find in himself to tell others because it is a very special place to him. He takes the sight of the lake that remains beautiful in the night. The light of the moon shining on the middle of the lake seems so majestic that it feels like it will take your eyes away. The moon is reflected on its surface and the darkness of the surroundings highlights its beauty. The flowers blooming at night are also wonderful as they prided on how beautiful they match their surroundings. The shy ones that blooms where it will be harder for others to see them. This is really a special place for him. The lake of Oblivion. It feels as though all of his troubles went away just from being here. "Mother, Father. I am home.", as he says those words, he curled himself somewhere near the lake and silently cries. In this place where there is only him and all his memories. If there is something here that can grant his wish to be with his parents, he will gladly grab it no matter what. His young heart is longing for his family that had been lost for unfortunate circumstances. He is not the only one who felt this way and he do not care a thing about it. It is selfish but it is the reason why he do not want to face reality. He is sad but he cannot let anyone else know. He cries as the time pass by. There is no one to comfort him here but he feels welcome here. There is no other place that can be for him. This is the only thing that is left from his father and mother whom he felt a love that nobody else can replace. If there is really something that can grant his wish, there is nothing else in this world that he can wish for. Part 9 As if answering his prayer, a soft growl emanates somewhere in the middle of the lake. It is so soft that the kid cannot hear it as he is wallowing alone in this place. As the kid remains in that place, it silently watches him as it waits for the right moment to grant the youth it's wish. Silently and patiently, it waits...
