The Lost Arc: Chapter 1 Act 1

The waves. It is crashing on the rocks below the cliffs. The scent of the ocean is more prevalent than they had ever been today. A cool air brushing to your cheeks as the waves sends an air blowing to your cheeks. Just by being here and taking a hold of the beautiful figures created by the ocean is already enough to take your heart away. The view here is a wonderful sight especially for the lady staring at the sea. She alone stand at that rocky shore that is cold enough for this sunny weather.

She likes the cold as much as she appreciates the heat. As she let her heart wanders off, she closes her eyes and let herself remember a precious person. She puts both of her hands to her chest and silently prays with her hands tightly clasping each other. After taking a rest there, she stand and walk back to the shore as she left the area with a smile on her face. She hops back to the sandy shore and picks up the basket she left there whilst her long brown skirt is still being blown by the winds from the waves. Her brown hair and fair skin is exposed in the sun from her long sleeved sweater. She is a person who likes this place for some reason like she is being enchanted. She comes here without a reason that she lets her mind wander off as she goes here. A wonderful person she is as she goes back to the greenery while hopping happily.

A place untouched by the evil. A small independent village that lives peacefully in this small island.

If only this peace can last for long....

Chapter 1

The Evil Kings. Seventy years ago, these evil beings suddenly appeared in the continent of Asteria and started conquering the various countries in it. There are five of them and no one has been able to defeat them ever since the people has lost their peace. Every country is living in fear that they may be the next in line to the destruction brought by the Evil Kings. This continues to persist until one day, a band of heroes successfully brings hope against the Evil Kings. By defeating the Evil King Gareth, the people regains their hope to defeat the other incarnations of destruction as they stand to protect their own countries. New heroes continue to arise day by day and strives to fight with a smile on their faces even if they stare with death as they do so. This light of hope continues to persist as the war of Light and Darkness continues.

Part 1

The Asteria Continent. It is a huge continent that is consisted of countries that are clustered together. There are around 175 countries wherein 70 of them are isolated islands clustered in the northeast and the southwest. It was a peaceful country that once serves as the capital for trade whose glory was stolen by the Evil Kings that such a history can no longer be traced. After seventy one years of struggle, the era of war and strife continues to persist.

In a small country named Thron, a lady wearing a thick hood travels this place on her own. She has red hair and red eyes that seems like they are burning. She has a prothestic protruding on her right arm that cannot clearly be seen unless you stare at the gaps of her sleeves. It is a proof that she no longer have a right hand. Despite of that, she easily handles all of her luggage behind her back as she carries it with all of her strength.

The country of Thron. It is found in the northwest area of the continent. It is an isolated place that is coincidentally placed far from the invaded countries. If one wants to find a temporary place of rest, then this is one of the places that you can go to. It has a small population of 100 and the people takes care of their daily lives on their own. People mostly live off on the crops that they harvest such as corn, wheat, rice and potatoes. The people living here states that they are quite blessed for having a warm weather and ample rain all throughout the year.

The red haired traveller who happens to come to this country was surprised as she arrives at the gate. Despite it being a small country, it was surprisingly well protected with all the barricade around their borders and a group of warriors guarding it.

"It is good that they are well", she said to herself. She adjust the baggage she is carrying inside and continue walking.

The borders of the country is not a wall like the borders of a castle. It is consisted of logs with sharp edges on its top serving as a wall to surround the area. It helps restrict the passages that people can walk through to enter the country.

She once again looked at her map. It would seem that this item is outdated.

"A population of 100? Are you kidding me? If they can afford that then there is no need for a wall!"

She felt exasperated at being foolish enough to rely on the map she retrieved from an old tower.

"I wonder how many times have I already said this?"

She looked once again at the wall before her, she realize that there are no other people around aside from her.

She thought hard on how she can resolve this situation.

Why is she thinking so hard about it? There can only be one answer. It is the fear of rejection. After travelling for about a year, she know how outlandish the people's values can be in a war-laden world like this. Even in peaceful areas like this, people in various countries tries to maintain the stance of letting no one in fear of being the next in line for the invasion and locks themselves in their own countries. Inside the country, these situation exists in various city as well.

The fear of rejection. Will she let it swallow her or...

"Should I give it a try?"

She told herself. She carries herself once more and brings her baggage on her back. She makes her way forward the entryway of the area with strength in her steps. She reminds herself of the reason she is here.

The reason she is here is to find a precious person. This is not about personal feelings or sentiments. This is simply something she believes that only she can do.

She is here to search for him. She is searching for the hero known as the radiant hero who was able to defeat one of the five Evil Kings who had spread terror for a very long time.

He is a very important person that must be found no matter what the cost. She believes that finding him is the only way to end this evil. Humankind will need his strength once more because the war has not ended yet.

No matter what she has to find him.
