"Minube"

"Who's he?" I asked. Luke's green eyes were somber when he replied," My Grandfather." I gulped. This man was the wizard who was training Luke, who in my opinion, could turn me into a bug and squash me if he wanted to. I sighed. "Is he mad?" I asked. Luke chuckled. "Don't worry, he doesn't bite.....hard." Luke replied. I gulped. "What do you mean by hard?" I asked. Luke smiled. "My grandfather is a day walking vampire." he replied. I gaped at Luke. This man was all sorts of crazy. I shook my head. “What other things are you not telling me?” I asked. Luke chuckled and patted me on the back. “You’ll be fine.” He said as he walked away towards Zebalta. This was going to be an interesting meeting and I did not know how it was going to go. I walked over to Luke's Grandfather. He smiled at me with one of those smiles full of wisdom and knowledge. I sighed. "Hi, Luke said you wanted to talk to me." I spoke. The man smiled. "Don't be afraid, I don't bite, no matter what my grandchildren will tell you. I am not a human blood sucking monster" he said. I sighed in relief. "You may call me Grandfather Gallery." he said. I nodded. "Ok Grandfather Gallery, what is going on? One minuet I am with my best friend, the next my best friend is a monster trying to eat me, and then my entire family is murdered. Not to mention that I now am stuck in a world that I know nothing about.” I said. Grandfather Gallery smiled at me with a sad smile. "I am sorry that the evils of our world have shaken you, but I can promise you that I will do my very best to find out the truth for you and to help you to start a new life here." he said. I smiled. "Thank you." I replied. Grandfather gallery smiled and turned to leave, but not before he turned back to me and spoke. "I think he likes you." he said, pointing towards Luke. I smiled and looked over to where Luke was standing, and then spoke. "I think I like him too." I repllied. Grandfather Gallery chuckled and turned to talk to his guards. I walked back to Luke and spoke. "You’re totally in trouble." I said. Luke started to sweat. "Aww man, I knew I shouldn't have done this." he said. I chuckled. "Luke, calm down, I'm kidding." I replied. Luke glared at me. "Don't ever do that again. Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" he asked while pointing at me. I smiled. "I can't promise that. It's too much fun to mess with you" I replied. Luke shook his head. Grandfather Gallery had us all start to walk towards the city. We followed the rest of the army. We walked for what seemed like hours, till we finally reached a halt. I felt very weak, and pain started to shoot up my side. “Luke. I don’t feel so good.” I said. Luke looked at me concerned, and then recognition crossed across his face. I slowly started to feel darkness overtake me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I slowly opened my eyes, not knowing how long that I had been unconscious. I looked around to see that we had made camp. Luke was sitting next to me. I went to sit up but then groaned. Luke’s head whipped around to look at me. He knelt down and leaned over me. “You’re ok. The healer healed you with magic. It’s going to hurt for a bit, but you are going to be ok.” He said. I nodded. “Did we stop because of me?” I asked. Luke nodded yes. I felt guilt and shame. “Don’t feel bad. We wanted to take care of you.” He said. I nodded. “We were going to continue to travel when you woke up.” Continued Luke. I nodded. “Help me up?” I asked Luke smiled. He put his arms around my waist, and in one swift motion, I was standing up in his arms. I felt my breath hitch. I could feel his heart beating against my chest. Our chests were touching? I slowly looked up to meet Luke’s gaze. He smiled at me. “Come on, let’s go.” He said. I nodded. The group began to travel again, and soon we came to a huge wall. Normally, a wall wouldn’t scare me, but what was guarding the wall was just mind blowing. In front of the wall stood this creature, I guess you could say. It had long skinny legs. It stood on two of them. It walked like a human, but with a little added swagger. The waist up was a fish with gills. It had the arms of a human. It was wearing some kind of fish tank sweater. I guess to keep it breathing. I looked to Luke. "What is that and what is it wearing?" I asked. Luke smiled. "Oh, that's an Ora and it's wearing a bandle." he said. "What is an Ora and what is a bandle?" I asked. Luke laughed. "An Ora is a fishy creature that needs water to survive, so we created a glass sweater that keeps the water on their skin. It is called a bandle. They resemble men, but almost like fish men. Their cousins are sirens" he said. I raised an eyebrow. Siren’s were real too? "Wait, did you just say sirens, like as in mermaids?" I asked. Luke laughed again. "Skylar, you are going to love it here." he said as he ran up ahead. I shook my head and looked around as I walked. Zebalta came up next to me. "Don't worry, sometimes I want to smash his head in too." she said. I smiled. "Where are we?" I asked. Zebalta turned to me. "We are at Minube, the city of the Elders." she said. "You live here?" I asked in awe. Zebalta laughed. "No, I prefer to live in Pru, which is the camp or dwellings for all the archers." she said. I nodded. "So, you are an archer?" I asked. "Did the crossbow and arrows give it away?" she asked in sarcasm. I smiled and shook my head. This was going to be an interesting journey. I just hoped that I was ready to face it.
