"Snow in Springtime"

276 Words
Suddenly, the wind started to pick up. Then there was a clash of thunder and lightning. I cringed and covered my ears. Then, there was silence, and nothing but stillness. A fluttering noise could be heard coming from above our heads and white snowflakes started to fall from the sky. I looked up as I felt the flakes touched my face. "Holy Power Piffles I did it!" yelled Luke. I smiled. "You did it! Wait, what’s a Power Piffle?" I asked. "It's a puffy ball like creature with chicken legs and large teeth." replied Luke. I sighed. I would never get used to this new world. I got up and started spinning in the falling snowflakes. I laughed in delight and was soon joined by Luke who picked me up in his arms and spun us around. I placed my hands around his neck and we just enjoyed the moment. We stopped spinning, and our eyes met. I could feel myself being drawn into his eyes. Soon, the snowflakes stopped, and I found myself getting tired. Luke put me down with his hands still on my waste. I smiled up at him, and felt our faces start to draw near. I was going to kiss him. Luke coughed and stepped away to get ready to sleep for the night. He rubbed the back of his head. I felt a pain of hurt go through me, but I had done the same thing to him. Maybe, he wasn’t ready to move forward with me. Had I caused a rift between us? I grabbed a pile of leaves laid my head on it. I drifted off to sleep.
