The next morning, I awoke to a foggy forest floor. The fire was out, and I could hear the bushes creeping. I know I had just gotten to this world, but something did not sound right. It was too quiet. There were no noises of crickets like the other night, and the wind was not even blowing to make the bushes move. I slowly sat and looked for Luke. He was asleep across from me. I got up and paced around looking at our little space. Something was not right. I walked over to Luke and bent down beside him. "Luke...Luke...Wake up." I whispered. He rolled over and mumbled in the other direction. “I’m sleeping, not now.” He whispered in a sleepy voice. I rolled my eyes. "Men are seriously weird." I muttered. Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes. I turned to see that an adorable creature popped out of the bush and landed with grace. "Aren’t you so cute?" I spoke. It was blue with Purple glazed eyes that looked like humans’ eyes. It looked like a puff. This creature was just plain purple. I could not see it mouth. I had chicken feet and no arms. I slowly reached my hand out to pet it, when suddenly; I was pulled back with a quick force. "Don't touch it!" yelled Luke's voice. I looked up as Luke helped me up to my feet. I looked back to the creature that was now shaking behind the bush with its head poking out. "Why? What is that? It's so cute." I spoke. Luke rolled his eyes. "That's a Power Piffle." he said. "What's wrong with it?" I asked. Luke looked at me and spoke. “You forgot the part of them having really sharp teeth." he said. I looked at the creature.
It slowly waddled over to my feet and looked up at me. "Ok, so what do I do?" I asked. Luke sighed. "They pretend to be nice but then they pounce." he said. "So, slowly back away and then we run." he said. I raised my eyebrows. "We need to run from that?" I asked motioning to the Power Piffle. Luke nodded. "Trust me." he said. I sighed. The creature started to shake and growl. Drool was slowly seeping out of its fur, where I assumed its mouth was. "Ok, time to go." I whispered to Luke, who nodded in return. Luke placed his hand on the small of my back. “Slowly, step back.” He whispered. Luke and I took a couple of steps back and we turned and ran. Luke grabbed my hand and helped me run as fast as I could, leaving my jacket behind. I did not care at this point. I was going to trust what Luke said. We ran and I looked behind me to see a little army of a variety of colorful creatures following us. Their legs stretched to be almost a yard tall. So, they could keep up with us. They were growling. They sounded like little Chihuahuas. Their teeth were Green and white and looked like jagged glass. "What happens if they bite you?" I yelled to Luke as we ran. "Well,” Luke began but was cut off when one of the power Piffles decided to try to bend down and take a bite out of his left shoe. "They have a magic potion in their teeth, so different color Power Piffles will do different things to you." he yelled.
I gasped as one of the Power Piffles bit at my hair. I ducked my head out of the way and continued to run. Suddenly, there was a loud bang and Luke grabbed me and rolled us to the ground. He rolled on top of me and was very still, covering my head with his. There were a loud couple of bangs and booms, then silence. The sound of the creatures receding into the woods was soon heard. They were running away. What had scared them off? Luke slowly picked up his head and looked at me. I stared into his eyes, not knowing what to do. I continued to stare into l Luke’s eyes. He was breathing deep and his body was pressed against mine, covering me to protect and hide me. We both were catching our breath from running. We stayed like that for a while longer and soon the tension started to rise. Luke’s head slowly started to bend down to me. Was he going to try to kiss me again? I felt drawn to him, and hoped that he was. Unexpectedly, there was a bang, and Luke quickly picked up his head up to see what was going on.
