"Getting Into Trouble"

748 Words
“Luke! You must learn to control the magic! You are getting my workshop as wet as a human aquarium!” yelled Grandfather Gallery. I sighed. “I’m sorry, I just can’t figure out how to control it yet.” I spoke. Grandfather Gallery looked at me and signed. “I’m going to go talk to the council. Can you please promise to stay out of trouble?” He asked. I nodded. “Yes, I can.” I replied with confidence. However, I had no confidence in that statement, but I was not about to tell him that. Grandfather Gallery looked at me. “I don’t believe you but it’s a start.” He laughed out. I nodded and watched as Grandfather left.” Somehow, he always knew the truth, even when you didn’t tell him. I walked to the wishing well and looked it. Grandfather had always told me never to touch it, unless I knew what I wanted, because the wishing well had ways of making your wishes turn into nightmares if not wished correctly. I sighed. My family was always making fun of me. My brother Mark always said I would never be a wizard like him. I was starting to believe him. My sister Zebalta was a warrior. I could not even hold a sword let alone fight with one. I needed to prove to my family that I was worth something. Grandfather would never just let me be a graduated wizard without proving I could do it. I sighed. I looked at the wishing well and thought about all the wonderful things that I could accomplish if I learned how to be a wizard properly. I suddenly felt my hand wet and quickly looked down to see that my hand was in the pool. Suddenly, the whole pool lit up and there was the face of a girl, she was beautiful, just walking. She had long blond hair and deep brown eyes. She was tiny, but looked like she could hold her own. She was dressed weird, considering that a woman in pants was not how things were done here. The city of Elwood was a different place. Our world was a world of magic and wonder. We had enemies, and life was not what it used to be like. Grandfather would tell me stories on how life was before the fall. I looked back into the well and saw the woman again. She was walking with another girl and I could see through the well that the other woman’s eyes her eyes were black. She was a morph. I could tell. I had a sense for these things, or at least I thought I did. Morphs were one of the most feared creatures in the land. What was a beautiful woman like that doing with a morph? Suddenly the pool turned dark and I saw a world, or planet that was round. It was Earth. I had heard stories of this place, but never believed it to be true. In school, we were taught about our world, other worlds, and magic. I never was able to master the magic part, but I did good when it came to classwork. I brought myself back to reality. I had a revelation. If the stories were true, then I could be the one to save her. I looked back to the pool and saw the woman walking into the woods. Suddenly, the woman was thrown and then started running. I knew that I had to save her. I rushed to my grandfather’s teleporter, grabbed my wand, and a sword and touched the teleporter. It was a rock that glowed and could take you to wherever you were thinking about. I was thrust into a spinning cyclone. I was spinning and twisting all around. I looked around as I had the feeling of falling. There were colors everywhere. It looked like the night sky, but with stars, that were full of colors. The colors soon faded, and I felt my feet hit something hard. I realized that I was done teleporting, and was on solid ground. I looked around. I was in the woods. I heard a scream and knew that I had been teleported to the woman. This was my chance to save her and show everyone what I could do. Everyone would take me seriously. I heard another scream. I knew I had to act fast. I ran in the direction of the screams.
