Lana turned to Claire and said softly, "Claire, why don't you grab Adrian a cup of tea from the kitchen?"
Claire leaned closer to her mother, whispering in a hushed tone. "Mom, don't talk nonsense. He's just a friend."
Lana's lips curled into a knowing smirk as she gently patted Claire's shoulder. "Don't worry, Claire. I understand."
Claire headed to the kitchen, and after a while, she strolled back into the living room with a freshly brewed cup of tea.
She immediately noticed Lana beaming so wide that her eyes almost disappeared. Adrian sat nearby, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
As soon as Lana saw Claire, she quickly composed herself, standing up with a natural expression. "Claire, you two chat. I'm not as young as I used to be. I can't stay up. Off to bed, I go!"
