Brad winced when Megan slammed the car door shut. Go after her, i***t, his heart shouted, but his mind just replayed how stupid he’d felt after flying all the way to Costa Rica just to find out she’d completely forgotten about him.
It was supposed to be this huge surprise. He hadn’t told her he switched his plane ticket. For one thing, she would have balked when she found out how much he had to pay. For another, they’d both agreed that maybe the snowstorm was God’s sign that they needed to take a step back. Slow things down a little. Pray more about their relationship.
Stupid how naïve he’d been.
