Jigger’s eyes softened even more, and his voice gentled as well, “Who is the alpha you were visiting? You tell me who, and I’ll see if Gaby or one of the others can find out what happened to your stuff.”
Kurby’s head lifted as his heart filled with hope. “You really think they can?”
Sighing, Jigger replied, “To be honest, I don’t know. I mean it has been nine and a half months, Kurby, but we can at least try... right?”
Kurby smiled wide, “Thanks, Jigger! That’s more than I can expect. Just you being willing to help me means the world to me.”
Jigger turned away, so Kurby could get dressed, and when he was finished, Kurby asked, “Can I ask you something, Jigger?”
Jigger looked Kurby’s way and nodded. “Of course. If it’s about my legs, all I can tell you is I was born this way.”
