Nodding, Elija said, “You’re right.” Then he looked at Houston hopefully, “Do you really think he wasn’t rejecting me?”
With a smirk, Houston pointed behind Elija. “Only one way to find out.”
Elija turned to see Kurby walking up to them, and each step seemed more determined than the next.

Kurby was pissed off and hurt all at the same time. Hell, if he was honest with himself, he knew he was feeling just about every feeling there was to feel. But right now, hurt and pissed topped them all.
