Myla's p.o.v
It's already six o'clock in the evening. I dozed off while listening to music. There were two messages and two missed calls from Andrew.
"I'll see you later! I'm very excited!”
I almost forgot our date scheduled was today. I'm completely blank. I'm not sure how I feel. My phone abruptly rings and answered it,
"Hey Jenny!" I exclaimed.
"Hey! I heard you're going on a date with my younger brother, sissy!" Jenny's voice sound so cheerful.
"Yeah. Actually, I'm not sure about it. I'm still lying in bed, thinking about the date," I inhaled deeply.
"Sissy, just give it a go. I mean, there's no harm in giving him a chance. You're getting older, and you need that one guy who will look after you,” She elaborated.
"So you're saying I can’t manage living alone?” She chuckled,
"What I mean was you need someone who will love you. Someone who will make you feel special and inspire you everyday." I was hurt the last time I loved. Everything was taken away from me. I even lost myself. I am not fully recovered from the pain I’m going through.
"My brother likes you a lot. He wishes to learn more things about you."
"Okay, I will give him a chance, no problem Jenny,” I responded.
"Okay, see you later! Please contact me after that," I hang up the phone. I was about to get my towel when I accidentally hit the picture frame place on the table, which caused it to fall off. It was a picture of me with Christ. We were both happy in this picture. When I look in his eyes, I can proudly tell he's madly in love with me, but that was before.
"I miss you, my babi." I muttered while caressing the picture, perhaps now is the time to forget about you." I've been waiting for you for a long time, but you haven't save our relationship. I expected you to return and explain yourself, but 6 years had passed. You never ask me about our situation.
"I just hate the fact that I still love you till now." I hope you're doing well and when our paths cross again, I hope the feeling isn't the same as it was before."
My phone started buzzing after a few seconds. Andrew has called. I didn't respond. He’s already at the restaurant. Is it necessary for me to attend?
Andrew's Point of View
I look at my watch to see what time it is. Will she show up? I've been waiting for twenty minutes here where we'll be meeting. I checked my phone to see if she had responded to my texts, but got no reply,
"What would you like to order, sir?" Waitress asked,
"I’ll take my order later, for now, I need water,” I said.
The waitress looked perplexed. This is the second time she has asked for my order, and the second time I have requested a glass of water.
"I'm waiting for someone," I said,
"All right, sir," she muttered, She was about to leave when I throw a question,
"Would you be late if someone asked you out on a date?" She wiggle her eyebrow. I'm embarrassed. Why am I even asking her?
"Yes. I'd be late for our first date. It will be a test for him to see if he has the patience to wait for me." She laughed silently. I'm relieved in some ways. Maybe she was just getting ready.
Jenny told me that Myla never entertains suitors after a long breakup with her ex-boyfriend. Maybe she was really hurt by that guy, or maybe she still likes him.
"Sir, here's your water," The waitress said as she placed the water on my table.
"Thank you!" She simply nodded and walked away.
"Hey!" I turned around when I heard Myla’s voice. With her red dress, she looks stunning. She has a simple yet gorgeous. She simply let her hair down with a cute flower hair clip. She's not like the other women I've met.
"I apologize for being late.” Her humility astounds me.
"No, it's fine. Please take a seat." I summoned the waitress, who handed me the menu. After a minute, the waitress arrived and took our orders. She smiled and looked at me as if to say, "I told you she'd come."
"I appreciate it." Myla addressed the waitress.
She's incredibly nice. I'm just staring at her as she eats. She's very straightforward and innocent. When I look at her, my heart melts like an ice cream.
"Do I have something on my face?" She asked, she might notice I’m staring at her.
"Nothing, I can't believe you gave me a chance to date you." I stated.
"I had completely forgotten what it feels like to be dated with someone. That's why I didn't say no," She chuckled,
"Did you miss the feeling of dating with someone, or did you miss that person you used to date before?" I asked. She was just quiet. Maybe I was asking her an uncomfortable question.
"So how about you? Are you longing for someone?" She asked me back.
"No! Why should I?!”
“Is it okay to ask about your past?" It seems like you’re interested to know my life. I can feel butterflies in my stomach.
"I haven't had a girlfriend since I was born."
"What?! Are you serious?!" She asked in shocked,
"So, I tried to have some flings, but it didn't work out. I took advantage of the opportunity in Canada. I was assigned a large project there, and I brought my family with me," She was simply listening to me.
"Jenny had an opportunity here in the Philippines after a year, so she had to stay here, while my mother was with me. She was grieving on my father's death. Now, I'm thankful to God that my mom was finally well and doing great, and we decided to return home after my project is completed. Of course, we miss Jenny."
"Who woudn’t want to have a son like you, I know your mom was fortunate and grateful to have you," I’m very flattered with her words,
"I'm just doing my best for them."
"So, how about you? Jenny told me that you never entertained suitors after your breakup with your ex." It’s time to turn back the question.
She was remained silent. I guess this is not the perfect time to ask her that.
