Owned By My Enemy

I looked at at Alpha Kael and he did not seem to notice the silver-eyed Alpha. Had no one else seen what I just saw? "Let's go, Kitten" Alpha Kael said as he led me outside the auction hall. The cold night air slapped me in the face the second we stepped outside. I sucked in a deep breath like I’d been underwater for hours. Honestly, I might as well had been been f*****g drowning because nothing says suffocation like being sold in front of a room full of bloody alpha psychopaths "Where are you taking me?" I asked no one in particular and no one answered. "Where are we going?" I still received no response. It was like I was trying to talk to huge rocks. f**k, I could have been dancing in my underwear and they still would care or look at me. They just kept walking forward, including Alpha Kael who instead, locked my hand in a tight grip like he thought i would escape. Alpha Kael Nightbane. My mate. My enemy. My personal nightmare with great cheekbones. As we stepped onto the pavement, his black SUV waited outside like something out of a billionaire villain movie. Tinted windows. Armed guards. Expensive tires probably worth more than my childhood home. He opened the door for me. “Get in.” Alpha Kael finally said, his voice calm, controlled, and deeply irritating. I stayed exactly where I was. “You think buying me means I obey you blindly now? You've got the wrong girl then” I snapped. His eyes dropped to my lips for half a second before lifting again. “You’re alive because I bought you,” he said evenly. “Don’t test how patient I can be.” Wow. Threatening and emotionally constipated. I hated how steady his voice was. Like I didn’t affect him at all. I was fighting a lost battle and he clearly was not going to give me the reaction i wanted so, naturally, I got into the car feeling stupid and tired... so f*****g tired of everything. He slid in beside me and shut the door. The space instantly shrank. His thigh brushed mine, and heat shot up my leg so fast, I nearly cursed out loud. “You can relax,” he murmured. “I’m not going to touch you.” My stomach flipped...The audacity of this man. Not going to touch me? Please. He said it like touching me would be some noble sacrifice. He f*****g bought me!! Like a piece of candy by the roadside!! As the car pulled away from the curb, sadness filled my heart, wrenching whatever strength I had left from me. One moment I was with my pack, happy, fulfilled and surrounded by love and family, the next I was standing on an auction block being bought by my mate who does not consider me his mate. Tears slid down my eyes and I quickly rushed to wipe them. I did not want him to see me looking weak and broken. “You killed them,” I said quietly, my voice breaking. He didn’t answer right away, but then he cleared his throat and then answered. “My men did.” “That’s the same thing.” He did not respond immediately, but he cleared his throat again before turning to face me in the tight car. “You think I ordered it, don't you?" Was he crazy or high? Or both? “Didn’t you?” I asked again... "what did my pack ever do to you... whyyyy.... why??" His jaw tightened. “You may want to see me as a monster, I am... but I do not claim someone else's achievement as mine. I did not order for your pack to be destroyed.” I turned toward him fully, but he turned his head and kept staring ahead. “I gave no command to attack Silverclaw territory,” he said. “When I arrived, it was already done.” I laughed once. “That’s bullshit.” I spat, my eyes burning red. “I don’t lie.” he responded. “oh, how f*****g convenient for you!!!" His dark gaze slid to mine then. Like no one has ever called him put like that before. “Silverclaw land holds something,” he said quietly. “Something powerful and someone wanted it.” A chill crawled down my spine. All these was for a piece of jewellery? “What? What was so important, that my entire pack had to die for it?” He looked at me for a long moment before responding again... “You.” The word hit my chest harder than it should have. Me? I was wearing a ripped dress, emotional damage, and zero patience and to crown it all, they just f*****g sold me! “There is nothing powerful about me,” I whispered. “Yes,” he said. “There is, Kitten. You just dont know it yet" Before I could argue, the car slowed down at a massive iron gate Nightbane territory. The gates opened slowly like the mouth of some giant beast welcoming us in to digest later. A shiver crawled down my spine because in all my years, I never thought it would enter this evil, dangerous pack... who am I kidding, I never thought it would be bought at an auction by the Alpha of this pack, but life always plays crazy games. Beyond them stood a mansion so enormous it looked less like a home or even a pack house and more like a f*****g warning. Stone walls...tall windows...guards and warrior werewolves everywhere. Kael stepped out like he owned the f*****g planet and guards rushed forward immediately. Meanwhile, I climbed out slowly because I preferred retaining what little dignity I had left. Goddess know if I fell down from this car, I would lay down in that floor rill I withered away and died!! Inside, the hall was warm and elegant, all dark wood and polished stone and wealth so thick it practically had a scent.... I was used to wealth in my old pack, but like this. I turned around and noticed Kael’s gaze as it slowly dragged over me once. I mean, it was not disrespectful, but it definitely was not innocent either. Prick!! I thought he said he didn't care about the mate bond or whatever the guck he had said... it was really all a blur now. My breath caught as he stepped closer to me. “You feel it too, don’t you?” he said quietly. “Fe..feel what?” I stuttered as his fingers lifted and brushed a strand of my hair off my shoulder. My entire body betrayed me instantly. I couldn't breathe, my skin turned hot, and my damned stomach fluttered like an i***t. Maybe it was the hunger for real food... because f**k, I was starving... As if to remind me that it wasn't just hunger, the butterflies intensified their flying... Stupid mate bond. “I hate this,” I whispered. “So do I.” Kael said, but his voice had roughened and his eyes had dilated, shinning a very bright gold. Liar. He was so close now, so close I could feel his breath on my face. His hand settled on my waist, resting there like it f*****g belonged there. My wolf stirred inside me, restlessly... "Mark him." I heard her say loud and clear. Absolutely not! Instead, i shoved his chest, but the man could have been a giant rock because he didn’t move... not even an inch. “You don’t get to touch me,” I snapped. His eyes darkened. “I haven’t even started touching you, Kitten” His thumb pressed lightly against my hip. “You think I don’t feel it too?” he said, his voice low and rough. “The pull...the heat.” He bent closer, his lips hovering near my neck right above my pulse. If he bit me there... Nope. Not thinking that thought. My thighs pressed together anyway. Traitorous body. f*****g useless, traitorous body. “I could mark you right now,” he murmured. “End this tension.” My wolf whimpered in approval. This bitch... My human side wanted to throw a vase at him. “Try it,” I challenged..."and you'll regret it" For one wild second, I thought he would. His fangs brushed down from my neck to my shoulder. His hand tightened on my waist. My back hit the wall. Everything was happening all at once. Heat....Power....Danger... Need... so much need... And then... he stepped away. “I won’t take what isn’t given,” he said. I blinked. What the hell? Before I could recover, a voice rang through the hall of Alpha Kael’s pack house.... “Touch her again without a council vote, and you’ll start a war.” My heart dropped. We both turned, and standing in the doorway was the silver-eyed man from the auction...
