“Put the guns away,” Devon said, bursting out laughing. “I want to eat. I’m hungry.” “You’re always hungry, dude. Have you ever considered that maybe you’ve got a tape worm?” Pete asked. Devon flipped him the bird. “Eat me.” “Later.” Pete hooked a thumb in the direction of our waitress. “Granny there can learn a lot from a young buck like me.” “You mean, how to act like a jackass?” Devon said. Pete snickered, and I noticed a few of his teeth were missing on the bottom. “She could be my grandma.” “Trust me. She wouldn’t want to be your grandmother,” Devon said. Pete shrugged. “Why not?” “She abhors you.” “She’s the w***e,” Pete blurt out. Devon looked around, beaming. “Abhor, you douchebag. Detest you. Doesn’t like you.” Devon looked at me for a reaction.
