Chapter Nineteen Llewellyn had left sharpish on Sunday morning so as to beat him to the driver’s seat. Rafferty, resigned to the passenger seat, was just about to follow him out the door, when Bill Beard put his head round it. ‘Visitor for you.’ ‘I’m going out, Bill.’ Annoyed that unless he pulled rank, which he was reluctant to do, he’d have to put up with Llewellyn behind the wheel again, he was short with him. ‘I haven’t got time to see anyone now. Maybe later.’ Then his brother Mickey’s joined Bill’s head at the door. Rafferty pulled a face, but said, ‘Okay. Scrub that.
