The Djinni The djinni are descendants of ancient illicit unions between daevas and human beings. The five ranks of the djinni include, in descending order: Shaitan Marid Afrit Jinn Jann Most djinni are worshipers of Rimahn, although some—notably the righteous Jann—follow the path of Oromasd. Though they are long-lived creatures of magic, their human heritage makes them mortal and gives them souls—but those souls are lost at the Bridge of Shinvar if they are deemed unworthy to enter the House of Song.
