{Ellie’s POV}
It was the night after mommy gave me the beautiful diamond necklace.
I've hidden it well.
Mommy and I had just finished having dinner, and it was usually the time where she would tell me one of her stories as she helped me clean myself in the bathroom.
But she wasn't around.
“Mommy?”
I rubbed my eyes and looked around the small living room, already feeling sleepy. When I didn't find her inside, I peeked my head out the front door even though mommy forbids me to go out without telling her.
A wide smile formed on my face when I saw her just outside the front door, a phone pressing against her ear.
The frown on mommy's face was enough to wipe the smile from my face. It was enough to make me forget what I was supposed to say.
