{Ellie’s POV}
Once dad left, the room was once again filled with blaring silence that seemed to comfort me like no other. Unlike earlier, I felt more at peace—something mom seemed to always bring in me even after she was gone. I couldn’t help but feel thankful that, at least, now dad was here. He may not have the same comforting effect that Mom possessed, but I’m still grateful that he was here for me. I could see how much he’s trying, but sometimes, too much is not healthy.
I spent another hour just lying in bed, and even if I kept trying to, I just couldn’t find it in me to fall asleep. After so much trying, I finally gave up. I stood up and went out of my room. Maybe I just needed to drink some water to drain all the negative thoughts in my head, including the party last night.
