Elena
For the first time in ten years since I’ve built up my confidence and power, I’ve never been caught off guard. I’m mostly always aware of the things that’ll happen to me.
I calculate and predict things so hard that I know of the options I have, and I mostly know what will happen after weighing the risks associated. But this one I didn’t see coming at all. I wasn’t even part of the candidates of the first ritual.
How the f*cking hell then? How’s this even possible? It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Everyone stared at me, most people were shocked, some were really angry while others were just happy. But my eyes were fixated on the Alpha, looking right into the eyes of the person I hate the most in the entire world.
I hate Thad he’s even breathing, I badly just want to kill him already. My hands itched for my sword so I can aim for his neck, my nose craved the smell of his blood.
Excitement churned through me as I imagined how happy I would be when I eventually end his life by myself. I badly want to be the one who’ll see his eyes close as he dies in pain.
“The Luna has been chosen by the moon goddess! This is the one the moon goddess wants, she’ll rule alongside our Alpha! Can you step forward now, your majesty?” The announcer’s booming voice brought me out of reverie.
Am I really going to do this? Heck yeah! I’d rather be with the Alpha than to allow any other girl suffer. This will even bring me closer to him and will make killing him really easy.
I’ll just find a way to slow down the marking, because once we mark each other, I can’t kill him. Killing him would make me die or lose my mind too.
I walked to the front confidently. I had to peel away that facade that I had on since I got here, telling myself that I didn’t have to pretend like a slave anymore.
“She walks just like a Queen already!”
“Geez! Can you see that confidence already? She looks so strong!”
“Who’s this girl? She looks like one powerful person.”
The comments went on and on as I made my way to the front. I soon got to the stage where the Alpha, the council and that announcer stood.
The same council who approved my parents death smiled at me as I walked over. They’re just like weevils to me, very easy to kill and get rid of. All I just need to do is give them a little bribe with some p***y to f**k.
“What’s the name, your Majesty?” The man asked me.
“Elena.” The whispers got even louder, probably with how firm my voice was.
I had given myself a new name after surviving in the wild for years. I used to be called Aurora but that name had to go with my parents death.
“Behold your Queen, members of the Nightingale kingdom! Queen Elena Knight!”
Roars of happiness traveled into the air as soon as he announced that, every single person in the crowd was made to bow to me. That wasn’t really strange to me, my men back home used to bow to me too.
“All rise.” My voice roared. They all stood up at that. The glances on people’s faces made me know that being the leader of these people for the few days that I have here might be draining. It’s not like I care though, it’s all good as long as I get to do what I came here to do.
“The mating ceremony and the Queen’s swearing in will come up in a week’s time. We need to give her time to settle down first.”
I don’t even have a say in this? What if I didn’t have an ulterior motive? I’d have just been expected to go with the arrangements like that? I wouldn’t even have accepted to be their queen if I didn’t have something to do.
I just can’t imagine myself being a queen over the same people who watched as my parents were killed. The same people stoned them even though majority knew that they didn’t do what they were accused of.
“Your seat is right beside the king, your majesty.” The man bowed to me, gesturing towards the seat beside the Alpha. I had felt his stare on me all through the time I stood before the crowd.
I walked majestically over to the seat and sat down with all the confidence I could muster.
“Elena, is it?” The king asked almost immediately after I sat down. His voice officially topped the one I hate the most in the world.
“Yes.” My jaw clenched as I replied to him.
“Weren’t you the one who came to clean my room the other time? So you’re an omega. A weak, pathetic being for a mate and Queen. Nice one, Artemis.”
This weak omega will end your life faster than you can imagine. I’m not even surprised that he just referred to the moon goddess as Artemis. With the current hierarchy of werewolves, he’s next in line to the moon goddess.
“What’s your surname? Who are your parents?”
My fists curled up at that question. As much as I want to keep up a normal front before the pack members, I don’t just think I can do that anymore with everything he’s saying. Does he even have a filter?
“They’re dead.” Was all I could say. Any sane person should know to not ask any more questions with how I responded.
I looked away from him, looking at the cheering crowd as that announcer told them of yet upcoming events in the pack. I completely ignored the Alpha till we had to leave.
I stood up first, wanting nothing to do with him at the moment. I don’t want to be close to him at all, or I’ll be forced to slice his throat in front of anybody.
The moment we stepped down from the podium, guards flanked our sides immediately. I wasn’t even shocked or anything, I just kept walking as though everything is okay in the world.
We were led into the castle that was just opposite the opening used. Walking inside made me remember what happened in the afternoon again. The Alpha and that girl.
He’d have really acted like he didn’t just have his p***s shoved into her p***y if I hadn’t caught them together. Not like I care though.
“I hope you know what you signed up for though, I’m not a nice person. So don’t expect romance or whatnot for me. Consider this a business deal. I know you’ve been preparing all your life for this, but don’t you dare do anything to bring down this kingdom. I’ll kill you if you do.” He threatened.
Not if I kill you first though.
“Okay, Alpha.” I answered sardonically.
“Just call me Silas.”
“Whatever.” I brushed him off, using a nonchalant tone too.
“Who do you think you are to talk to me like that?” He questioned me angrily.
Ooh! I guess the alpha isn’t used to being disregarded that way.
“Your Queen? Where’s my room please? I need to rest.” I asked him.
“I’m not your f*****g maid!” He growled lowly, his eyes flashed red, showing how angry he was. He walked out on me almost immediately, leaving me in the large halls of the castle.
“Good evening, your majesty.” A timid voice said from behind me.
I turned around to see a lady with her head bowed to me.
“Hi.”
“I’m your maid, my name is Emily.” She introduced herself.
“Oh, you can look up please.” I said to her and she did just that.
I was however met with the second shock of the day. Standing before me was the same lady Silas was having s*x with. And she looks oddly familiar, like I know her from way back.
