Elena
I kept racking my head about Emily all through the night, I’m just so sure that I knew her before. And what exactly was Silas thinking when he made her my maid.
I just can’t stop thinking about what would have happened if this was a normal situation where I’m really his mate now. He’d have made his mistress my own maid just to keep her close to him?
And I’m so darn sure that he knows I know now. I saw both of them coming out of that room, I was the one who cleaned the room even. He really is a monster. I’m just so grateful that I’m not staying here for long.
I woke up this morning to see my belongings in the room, I just hope they didn’t search the bag. I really do hope it hasn’t been broken and searched.
I dragged the bag over to me and saw that the lock was still in place, it didn’t look like it had been tampered with. There’s really nothing in there, expect for the fighting gear I brought which might have raised suspicions.
I packed pretty much all the clothes I used to wear before I set up my own mafia and started getting money from selling firearms and other heavy deals.
A knock came on my door, making me look up. This definitely isn’t Silas’s room, this one looks really new. Though killing him would have been easier if we were in the same room, I don’t think I want to be around him too.
“Come in.” I said. I already knew that it was Emily at the other side. I know her scent already.
She came in with her head bowed, “Good morning, your majesty. It’s almost time for breakfast. I’m here to dress you up for it.” She said.
“I can do that by myself, I don’t think I need your help with that.” I said to her.
She looked up, “But you’ll need my help with some things. I’m sure you’re not used to this kind of life, and I’m here to guide you through it. That’s why I’m here.”
The subtle jab at my slave status didn’t go unnoticed at all, but I wasn’t so bothered about that. I’m much more concerned about the fact that she wants to dress me up after having s*x with my supposed mate.
“Once again, I don’t need your help. I’ll find my way around it.” I said to her in a firm voice. I made a resolution within myself before going to sleep last night that I won’t get attached to her before I leave finally.
“Okay, I’ll be right outside the door in case you need me. And breakfast starts in thirty minutes. Your dresses are in the closet over there.” She pointed at the closet to me. I didn’t even see that before. She finally left me alone and I started dressing up.
I was prepared in no time, deciding to go for the most simple dress there, I’ve never been a fan of female stuff, I’d just rather go in anything comfortable.
Emily stayed outside like she said, she led me to the other part of the castle where the dining hall was located. I saw Silas standing at the entrance of the hall, looking so impatient.
“Why can’t you just keep to time? I hate tardiness so much.” He looked so mad, his eyes boring holes into mine.
“Good morning to you too, Silas.” I said back. That riled him up even more than I expected.
“I hate this.” He said more to himself as he linked our hands and opened the large doors of the dining hall without telling me. I wonder how it’d have looked like if it was some poor girl that became his Queen.
The crowd that greeted us was just so massive, the dining hall is actually really big. Silas led us to the table at the front where a lady is currently sitting in, she’s sitting directly next to the tall sit that belongs to Silas, the right side reserved for me to be precise.
Silas frowned as we got there, “What are you doing Serena? That’s the Queen’s seat.” Silas said in a really low voice that only we could hear.
“But I seat here every time, why should it be an issue now?” The lady replied. Could she be his sister? I really don’t care. Silas’s hand tightened in mine.
“Just move, people are watching.” She did just like she said, but she looks so sad. I sat down right there while Silas took the seat next to me.
The lady called Serena kept grumbling up until the time food was brought in. I almost didn’t notice the guy sitting next to her, he looked so calm, but he was trying to calm her down.
I saw that everyone hasn’t started eating at all, they were all looking at our table, me specifically. What’s going on? Did I do something?
“You have to taste the food before anyone else don can eat.” Silas answered my internal question.
Oh, I didn’t even know. I didn’t grow up in a pack to begin with, so I don’t know most of these rules. I immediately dug in and took the first bite. That was really the reason they weren’t eating. What kind of tradition is that?
“You definitely didn’t grow up in a pack to not have known that.” Silas remarked as the hall once again started bubbling.
“Yeah, it’s kind of obvious. I’m sure she lived in a bush all her life or something.” Serena commented.
“Excuse you?” I turned to her immediately, pinning her down with a hard stare.
“Chill, it’s not that deep. And I’m sure we haven’t met before. I’m Serena, Silas best friend and his favorite person.” She said, giving me a side glance as if she’s trying to tell me something.
“Whatever.” I dismissed her and turned to my food. I don’t like her, and I won’t hesitate to show that at all. She’s clearly a b***h who’s hung over Silas. Why didn’t he just make her his mate, maybe I’d just kill both of them.
“Hi, I’m Orion. Serena’s mate and Silas’s second in command.” The man sitting beside Serena said, making me look up from my food once again.
“Hi.” I mumbled dryly. So she has a mate, the guy looks too gentle and friendly to be paired with someone like this.
I refrained from saying anything till I finished eating. My appetite is normally so low, I barely even eat.
Serena stared at me. “You’re already done eating? No wonder you look so tiny. You should learn to eat well, Silas likes flesh.”
“Serena.” Silas called her in a warning tone.
“Serena.” Her mate did same thing.
“What? I didn’t even say anything much. I was only advising her.”
I stepped in before anyone else could, “If you have an issue with me, just say it already, bitch.” I said.
“Don’t use cuss words on her.” Silas reprimanded me.
I scoffed, “But she can insult me right? You all are impossible.” I said and stood up with anger brewing in me. I really need to let off some steam
