Mirabella POV The first thing I felt was the softness of the sheets beneath me, cool and familiar, yet distant. My body felt heavy, like waking from a deep dream that I couldn’t quite recall. Slowly, I became aware of the sounds around me—the quiet beeping of machines, the hushed footsteps outside the door, the faint murmur of voices in the hallway. Then it hit me, a jolt of memory that brought everything rushing back. The pain, the fear, the weight of it all. And then… the silence, that quiet darkness that had pulled me under. My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the soft light of the room. A faint ache lingered in my body, a reminder of the effort, the hours of labor. I felt hollow, empty, and it took a moment for my mind to catch up to where I was and what had happened. “Mirabella?”
