The morning broke like glass. Raven woke to the sound of voices. Jaxon’s low growl carrying through the penthouse walls, sharp enough to cut bone. She slipped from bed, bare feet silent against the marble, and followed the sound. In the study, Jaxon stood with his phone pressed to his ear, shirt sleeves rolled, tension carved deep into his shoulders.
