Esme's POV
My heart was beating fast and I felt a lump in my throat, like I was going to throw up. My body shook and tears poured down my cheeks. I was having a panic attack just remembering it.
Ethan did the thing that I least expected. He took me in a hug, rather than question everything I had just told him.
"Ssh. It's OK, I'm here now and I'll make sure that nothing happens to you." He said soothingly and that was exactly just what I needed. I took a deep breath and relaxed into his embrace.
