Ella's POV "Mom! have you seen my car keys?!" I yelled while putting on my shoes. "Check by the door hooks, you always ask me about that but you're the only one that uses them." my mom yelled. Well she's right it's just that when I'm in a hurry, I forget everything I need. "I'll go now, mom." I said while opening the front door. "Alright, give me a kiss first and make sure to have some fun after work, it's Friday night. You are way too busy with those children and hardly pay attention to people your age, how am I supposed to see you get married while I'm still alive?" "Mom!! stop saying that!" I blurted back. "You know what I mean Ella, I'm not getting any younger, I want to see you get married before I join your dad in heaven." "Mom, we are not having this conversation again, please. I'll go now, I love you." I kissed her and went to my car not giving her a chance to reply back. My mom has been bringing up that conversation ever since I turned 25. I love my job and I love the kids I work with, plus I don't want to waste time meeting up with people who doesn't understand me. I've been through a lot of failed relationships, mostly girls. Yes, I like girls and my mom's cool with that. I don't know, those beautiful faces but handsome at the same time gives me butterflies in my stomach. Most of my past relationships didn't work out because I was too busy with my work and my partners...well they just don't feel I have time for them. I just want my partner to understand how demanding my work can be. I'm a child therapist and it's amazing how can you be part of their development, but also needs a lot of time to spend with them. I love my work and I won't trade it for another career. Today, I have an appointment with one of my favorite kids, I know it's not fair to the others but Lyle is different. He's a big fan of cuddles and most of the kids I work with are not, that makes him more adorable for me. Lyle's parents are both Filipinos that migrated here in Canada and has been living here for years, so Lyle was born here. He has been my client for 6 months now and his progress is outstanding. His parents told me that starting this month, Lyle's aunt will be living with them and they asked me to orient her with the things she needs to know when playing with her nephew. Also, Andrea (Lyles's mom) told me that her sister is a graduate of Psychology like me, so she should have some knowledge about it. I parked my car in front of Lyle's address and rung the door bell. The door opened and I was shocked when a person, I've never seen before opened it. At the back of my mind I was patching the information relayed to me by Andrea - aunt, about my age, Psychology graduate, but the person standing in front of me is totally not what I imagined. I looked at her or should I say stared at her? She's about 3 inches taller than me, has fair skin, short dark hair that clearly shows her face features. The sides are shaved neatly which emphasizes her beautiful jaw line and has clear glasses that confines her dark eyes like a blackhole, you could get sucked in. She's wearing a white sleeveless that shows her toned arms telling me she's either into sports or just works out a lot and black jogging pants. "Uhm..I'm Ella Davis, Lyle's therapist. I managed to get out of my mouth before I start drooling over this surprise.
