Chapter 7

665 Words
Adriane's POV I got in to the university and based on my transcript's assessment, I get to credit almost 2 years equivalent of courses. That means I only need to complete 3 years worth of courses which includes major subjects in Clinical Psychology. I tried to call my sister but she's not picking up, maybe she's running around the home care giving medicine to their residents. She's a nurse here in Canada, like what she always dreamed of. I stared at my phone trying to decide if I'll call Ella and tell her the news. "Deep breath.." I instructed myself, then I tapped on Ella's number on my phone. *Ring* *Ring* - "Hello?" She picked up! Oh s**t! What now??.. "Hello, is this Ella? it's Adriane" I replied - of course it's her, it's her phone number duh - I said to myself. "Hey Adriane, are you okay?" she asked. "Yes, I'm fine. I just want to let you know I got into the University, thank you for the advise." "That's great, glad I could help" she answered happily. I can imagine her beautiful smile right now. "Say, Ella..do you have work tomorrow?" I managed to say, barely completing my statement. "No, why?" her quick reply. "Can I make an appointment for a tour at the University?" I asked slightly laughing. "Sure, I'll be your tour guide tomorrow." she responded also laughing, making me throw my hand in the air like I just won! "Awesome, I'll meet you at the admin office at 1pm!" I said. "Alright, see you." then she hung up. Butterflies in my stomach started flying everywhere. I walked towards the bus stop smiling like a fool. Now, how should I get back home? ***** Margaret's POV I saw Ella smiling at her phone while I was cooking our dinner. "So, did that hottie asked you out? I asked her while grinning. I know my daughter likes that girl, who wouldn't she's hot and seemed really nice, also did I mention hot? "Mom, her name is Adriane not, hottie. She just asked me to give her a tour to the University tomorrow." Ella said, hiding her smile from me. "And since when did you date college students? I know you're not as old as me but for heavens sake don't go ruining college girls' life!" I lectured her. "Oh my god mom! I'll just show her around the University. What are you even talking about!" she exclaimed while walking away from me. I like teasing my daughter when she's in love. I haven't seen her like this for years. Her last girlfriend didn't have that "in-love" effect on her. That girl - I tried to recall the name but I couldn't, she would hurt my daughter whenever they'll have a fight. I remember that horrible night, we invited Ella and her girlfriend for a thanks giving dinner. My husband asked Ella why she's wearing sunglasses inside the house only to found out that she has a bruise at the corner of her eye. My husband told her girlfriend never to hurt our daughter again, but that bastard had the guts to talk back to him. He was furious and was about to hit that b***h when Ella stopped him. My husband saw how much Ella loves that asshole but he loves our daughter even more, his heart was not able to take all the pain that time - he had a cardiac arrest and did not make it to the hospital. I wiped the tears from my eyes as I recall what happened to my husband. I know Ella blamed herself for what happened and never left me alone since then. I told her countless times not to blame herself and to continue living her life, but she never went back to her own apartment. She broke up with that b***h and drowned herself with work. I know my daughter's happiness should be mine, but I'm relieved they're not together anymore. I don't want my daughter to be with someone who doesn't respect her and her family.
