Grogath’s fury

1179 Words
Nashoba ordered his guards to take Grogath prisoner. Now that the orc was left all alone, he expected him to come without offering any resistance. Grogath however, had other plans. “It’s not over yet!” Grogath pulled out the rhinoceros horn slung around his back and blew into it. The loud blaring sound awakened the birds nesting in the trees and caused them to flee in panic. Nashoba realized what he was doing. This was an Orcish Signal Horn used for rallying the horde. Before the human warriors could get close to Grogath, 15 Dark Orcs riding large black wolves jumped out from the surrounding bushes and joined their leader. These were the Dark Orc Riders—elite units who carried out scouting operations in the forest at night. Aaron quickly turned around and pointed his flaming palms at the riders. He was about to attack the orcs when the flames fizzled out. “Incinerate!” “God damn it. Incinerate!” [*Low EP*] [Unable to cast skills.] Without even realizing it, Aaron had used up all his EP while pushing back the Dark Orc warriors. His abilities had already been activated in the past 24 hours and were on cool-down now. “Krok du loi!” Hearing their leader’s order, the riders turned their attention towards Aaron. Grogath knew the humans would fall easily if he could get rid of the Pyromancer. All 15 wolves howled together. 5 riders stayed behind to protect Grogath, while the rest targeted Aaron. Aaron backed away slowly, trying to think of a way out of this mess. Then suddenly, he remembered about his special mount. The enchanted Woolly Mammoth should still be nearby. He quickly put his fingers to his lips and whistled aloud. A loud trumpeting noise tore through the night, silencing the growls of the wolves. The snow white beast tore across the field and picked Aaron up using its telekinetic powers. Once on its back, he was ready to turn the tables. “You aren’t the only ones with mounts. Let’s see how you like it now!” Aaron sneered. Tapping the mammoth on its head, he gave his command. “Kill all the damn Orcs! Don’t let any of them escape!” Once more the mammoth’s eyes glowed bright blue and it raised his forelegs to intimidate the beasts. The Orc riders were hungry for blood. Despite the size of the massive mammal, they weren’t scared. These Dark Orcs were expert hunters and a whole group of them could easily bring down even a herd of mammoths. The 10 riders spread out and surrounded the Woolly Mammoth from all sides. As soon as the mammoth rushed to trample the rider standing in front, the ones at the back flung their spears at it. The massive beast groaned in pain as the polished iron spearhead went through its thick hide, staining its fur red. Each time it tried to attack a rider, he leapt out of the way. The Dark Orcs maintained a safe distance from the mammoth, with one acting as bait. This was an effective way of dealing with large beasts that relied solely on physical strength. Since the mammoth had to get close to grab hold of the orcs, all the riders had to do was stay out of range. They kept attacking it with their spears, instead of rushing in close. Being mounted on wolves gave them the ability to outmaneuver the huge beast, owing to its slow speed. As the mammoth started bleeding from all sides, the orcs pressed the attack and started targeting its legs. The mammoth however, wasn’t ready to go down without a fight. All this time, it had been building up its EP to use its special skill. Just when the Dark Orcs thought the beast was beginning to tire, the mammoth raised its forelegs and trumpeted aloud. Its fiery blue eyes flashed in the darkness and it unleashed its Mega Stomp skill. The Dark Orcs were tossed up in the air and their wolves thrown upside down. As they landed on the ground, they were disoriented by the sudden AOE attack. The mammoth took full advantage of this and trampled them under its enormous legs. “That’s enough!” Grogath leaped in the air and brought his heavy battle axe down with full force. “Exa Horash!” The gleaming curved blade sent out an aerial s***h which sliced the mammoth’s trunk in half. Blood gushed out like a fountain and the beast was driven wild with pain. Aaron tried to hold on to its fur, but he soon lost balance and came crashing down on the ground. The fall knocked the air out of his lungs and he broke his left arm.  “Come now, beast. It’s time to meet my blade!” Grogath ran up to the enraged mammoth and with a powerful jump, landed right on its back. Grabbing hold of its left ear, he steadied himself and hacked away at its head. “Die die die!” Blow after blow struck the mammoth repeatedly as Grogath kept chopping at the beast like a crazy butcher. Eventually, a critical hit cracked open the mammoth’s skull and delivered the killing blow. The tribesmen watched in terror as the Dark Orc pulled out his bloodied axe and jumped down just before the massive mammoth came crashing down on the ground. “Get up, boy! Let me see how hot the fire burns inside you.” Grogath walked up to Aaron and kicked him in the shin. Placing his filthy feet on his left cheek, he chuckled. “You’re so soft, human. I almost thought you were a girl. I guess I can always try something new.” There was a sinister look in his lustful eyes and a dirty smile pasted on his dark gray face. “Nashoba, I like your gift. Maybe I won’t raid your village tonight.” “Keep your dirty hands away from the boy. He is under my protection,” the chief cried out, pulling out his ancestral dagger. “Get away from him or I will cut you down.” “Have it your way, human.” Grogath turned away from Aaron and fixed his eyes on Nashoba and his guards. “Krok du coref!” he shouted, pointing at the chief. The surviving Orc riders immediately turned their attention towards the tribesmen. Snarling and growling the wolves raced across the field and pounced on the human warriors. The chief’s guards did their best to protect him, but their old strategy didn’t work anymore. Instead of attacking the guards, the wolves leaped over them and made their way to the backline. The Orc Riders didn’t give Nashoba and his men any time to react and quickly cut down the elders who had been healing the warriors. Once the healers were out of the picture, the Dark Orcs had no trouble hacking down the human warriors. Having killed Nashoba’s guards, they broke through the wooden fence and rode into the human settlement.
