“Come on, Mindy, just go home and let me do my job here,” her mom said firmly.
Mindy pinched her eyes, annoyed that her mom had to say that to her face. She knew she would be so damn selfish if she wouldn’t let her mom work here and made it a priority. They both knew they needed the money.
In the end, Mindy still wanted to argue with her mom about one simple thing, “But, Mom, cannot I visit you once in a while?”
“No! You can’t!” Her mom snarled out peevishly. “Why would you want to visit me here? This is not an amusement park, Mindy. You can’t just come by to a private manor. What Ms. Elwood would think of me?”
