*Griff* The buzzing of the alarm clock slices through the tranquility of the room and my blessed sleep, the sound akin to a chainsaw in a library. Anaïs is already up, standing by the window like some kind of angel bathed in the soft morning light. She turns towards me, a grin plastered on her face. “Time to get up, sleepyhead,” she calls out. The sound of her laughter is almost as jarring as the alarm clock right this moment. I pull the covers over my head, groaning.
